Job Description:
The Investment Development Senior Director is a key leadership role responsible for driving the strategic investment initiatives for a leading telecommunications organization. The role involves the formulation and execution of comprehensive investment theses, with an emphasis on aligning targets with the corporate strategy to ensure firm-wide strategic fit and commercial viability. The successful candidate will lead high-level commercial assessments and design integration plans that highlight potential value creation opportunities in coordination with the investment strategy team. This individual must exhibit a deep understanding of the investment landscape, particularly in private equity and telecommunications, and be adept at developing business cases for various transaction types beyond mergers and acquisitions. Furthermore, they will foster strong collaborations with stakeholders and present investment theses to senior management for approval. The role is pivotal in steering the direction of business diversification through new ventures and investments while adhering to established business policies and procedures.
Job Requirements:
- A Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration or Finance is required; a Master's Degree in Finance or Accounting is preferred.
- A minimum of 8-10 years of experience in investment execution, particularly in private equity.
- Proven consultancy background with a strong grasp of strategic investment frameworks.
- Advanced certifications such as Strategic Management Professional (SMP), Strategic Planning Professional (SPP), and Project Management Professional (PMP).
- Extensive prior experience in business development, strategy, and investment within the telecommunications sector.
- Expert knowledge of financial analysis and modeling methodologies.
- Proven track record of successfully leading complex investment transactions involving multiple stakeholders.
Job Responsibilities:
- Develop and lead the core investment thesis for all approved non-core investment concepts, ensuring alignment with overall strategic objectives.
- Lead the preparation and development of robust business cases for diverse transaction types, including Build, Joint Venture, and Spin-off.
- Collaborate closely with the M&A team in crafting business cases for acquisitions and divestments, ensuring all aspects are fully considered.
- Guide the engagement processes with potential partners for transaction types outside of M&A, including the formulation of strategic approaches to Build, Joint Ventures, and Spin-offs.
- Manage the Virtual Data Room (VDR) process for M&A transactions, ensuring that all necessary documentation and communications are handled effectively.
- Design optimal deal structures that maximize value creation and develop detailed integration hypothesis plans to guide post-investment activities.
- Prepare and align Non-disclosure Agreements (NDAs), Letters of Intent (LOIs), and Memorandums of Understanding (MOUs) with the legal department to ensure compliance and risk mitigation.
- Collaborate with M&A teams on the preparation and submission of critical legal documents including Non-binding offers, Binding offers, and Shareholder agreements.
- Align investment theses with Business Units (BUs), Clusters, and Subsidiaries to support cohesive investment strategies.
- Present core investment theses to senior management and executive committees to secure necessary approvals.
