As the Sorting Facility Manager, you will play a pivotal role in overseeing the operations of our facility, managing a diverse team, and ensuring the smooth processing and shipment of dates to our pack house. Your leadership will be instrumental in maintaining our quality standards and operational efficiency during this critical period.
Key Responsibilities:
1- Lead and inspire a team of dedicated employees across various departments including receiving, sorting belts, pallet preparation, fumigation chambers, and storage units.
2- Oversee the day-to-day operations of the facility, including managing sorting processes, coordinating pallet preparation for fumigation, and ensuring timely loading of containers for shipment.
3- Implement and enforce quality control measures to guarantee that only the highest quality dates are processed and shipped to our customers.
4- Work closely with logistics teams to coordinate the shipment of dates via cold containers to the pack house, ensuring on-time delivery and adherence to shipping schedules.
5- Maintain the facility's equipment, storage areas, and infrastructure, ensuring that all systems are functioning optimally to support operations.
6- Uphold strict health and safety standards within the facility to provide a secure working environment for all employees.
Qualifications:
Experience: Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in a managerial role within a similar facility or industry, demonstrating strong leadership and operational management skills.
Education: Bachelor’s degree in Agriculture, Logistics, Business Administration, or a related field.
Knowledge: In-depth understanding of pre-sorting processes, fumigation techniques, cold storage operations, and logistics management in a perishable goods environment.
Skills: Exceptional leadership, organizational, and communication skills with a proactive approach to problem-solving and a keen eye for detail.
