JOB PURPOSE:

  • To be based at site, working on an ON-OFF Cycle, to mainly carry out RO process troubleshooting and independently handling of normal and abnormal process condition & operations in order to ensure safe, reliable Plant operation with maximum availability. Scope will also include, at times, working in conjunction with Electrical or Mechanical or C&I Team to support as needed in their troubleshooting or preventive maintenance as applicable, to achieve reliable, continuous and safe operation & maintenance of such equipment and Plant.
  • This is a dual role primarily for Process Operation but will also involve some parts of Maintenance support.
  • Day to day activities will also include monitoring on Power distribution side as well as other support to Central Operations Team based on necessity and direction.

  • Follow all relevant policies, procedures, and instructions so that work is carried out in a controlled and consistent manner.
  • Ensure all operations are in accordance to Standard Operating procedures (SOP).

Safety, Quality & Environment:

  • Follow all relevant safety, quality and environmental control procedures and instructions so that personal safety/the safety of others is not jeopardised, and a minimum level of product/service quality and environmental impact can be guaranteed.
  • Must become fully familiar with NOMAC Safety rules and procedures and pass authorization test within 3 months of recruitment and be able to undertake safe isolations in line with direction from Safety Controller.

Professionalism :

  • Carryout prompt troubleshooting of Process to ensure production rate, water quality at each stage of the process (Pretreatment, RO, Post-treatment, Storage, Export) as well as rejects going to outfall are fully compliant to Contractual limits, are monitored consistently and product delivered as per contractual terms with highest Plant reliability & availability.
  • Prompt and safe mitigation and/or action is taken to ensure reliability of supply and availability.
  • Support other teams for carryi8ng out planned and reactive maintenance of plant in a controlled and consistent safe manner.
  • Be conversant and fully familiar with HMI screens, alarms, events, trends such that important analysis and troubleshooting can be carried out.
  • Maintain accurate and specific records of all incidents and accidents (if any) as well as involve from process side for any RCA investigation.
  • Ensure continuous running of plant equipment with minimum breakdowns level.
  • Responsible to maintain confidentiality of all information available to the position.

Planning And Organizing:

  • Independently plan and manage work in an efficient and timely manner with minimum supervision.
  • Produce quality workmanship under pressure and meet tight deadlines.

Technical Knowledge :

  • In depth knowledge of RO process including all stages of Water treatment and Permeate production as well as impacts and effects of different chemical dosage and controls.
  • Full and comprehensive knowledge of all chemicals used in pre & post treatment for RO desalination.
  • Familiar with working principles of all installed equipment including logics, trips and operational facia controls of PLCs and HMIs that are based on the latest technology related to the subject field.
  • Knowledge of handling abnormal process conditions and mitigation measures to be followed promptly.
  • Must also have good knowledge of Fire-fighting detection & suppression systems, HVAC operations, switchgear operations, pump/motors/valves/VSDs operations.
  • QUALIFICATIONS, EXPERIENCE, & SKILLS:

Minimum Qualifications :

  • 3 years Diploma / HND /or equivalent in Chemical, Mechanical, C&I or Electrical engineering

Minimum Experience :

  • 5 years’ experience of working in RO process environment in similar industrial setup preferably a power & desalination plant(RO) or large RO desalination units.

Job Specific Skills :

    • Good knowledge and hands on experience with various reputed vendor HMIs and with DCS/PLCs including fault/alarm analysis and troubleshooting.
    • Good Experience with HMI operations including Trip analysis, Event analysis, Trend set-up and analysis and assisting team to narrow down on faults.
    • Good Knowledge and hands on experience with various chemicals used in RO Plant.
    • Good knowledge of chemical dosage rates and impact of variations on process.
    • Good knowledge in reading P&IDs, SLDs, and other schematics, trip matrix, etc.
    • Hands on experience in accessing and analysing process logic.
    • Good knowledge about safety standards while working with pressurized and high temperature systems.
    • Adequate knowledge about RO system instrumentation and control.
    • Adequate knowledge in Variable Speed drives.
