We are looking for a seasoned Business Continuity Consultant with a minimum of 7 years' experience in the creation, execution, and oversight of business continuity (BC) and disaster recovery (DR) programs. The successful applicant will collaborate effectively with organizations to guarantee the durability of essential operations and adherence to industry regulations.
Responsibilities include:
- Drafting, executing, and sustaining thorough Business Continuity (BC) and Disaster Recovery (DR) strategies.
- Conducting Business Impact Analyses (BIA) to pinpoint critical functions, identify dependencies, and establish recovery time objectives (RTO).
- Formulating risk mitigation strategies to lessen disruption and ensure swift recovery in case of incidents.
- Leading and facilitating regular BC and DR testing sessions, including scenario-based simulations and tabletop exercises.
- Collaborating with stakeholders to incorporate BC practices into broader business initiatives.
- Ensuring conformance to pertinent standards and frameworks, including ISO 22301, NIST, and ITIL.
- Delivering training and user awareness sessions about BC and DR processes to employees.
- Continuously monitoring, evaluating, and reporting on the efficiency of BC programs, proposing enhancements as required.
- Keeping abreast of emerging threats, trends, and technologies pertinent to business continuity and resilience.
- Possessing the capability to draft and formulate business continuity policies, procedures, frameworks, and methodologies.
- Creating comprehensive reports for upper management that outline discoveries, risks, and recommendations.
- Conducting internal audits to verify adherence to various business continuity standards.
Qualifications:
- A Bachelor’s degree in business administration, Information Technology, Risk Management, or a relevant field.
- Over 7 years of experience in business continuity or disaster recovery, including at least 3 years in a consulting role.
- A deep understanding of BC and DR standards, methodologies, and best practices.
- Experience in executing BIAs, risk assessments, and continuity planning.
- Preferred certifications include CBCP, MBCI, or ISO 22301 Lead Implementer/Auditor.
- Expertise in BC and DR software tools and technologies.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and project management capabilities.
- Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills, capable of engaging effectively with a variety of stakeholders.
Preferred Attributes:
- Experience in collaboration with government agencies or large organizations.
- Insight into cloud-based disaster recovery solutions.
- Familiarity with cybersecurity and IT resilience as they pertain to BC planning.
- Proficiency in crisis management and emergency response coordination.
