Summary: We are looking for a passionate and driven Product Development Manager – Merchandise to join Huda Beauty. In this role, you’ll report to the Director of Product Development and collaborate closely with the Founder, playing a key part in shaping our Merchandise category. As a crucial member of the Product Development team, you’ll lead product research, concept presentations, development, and project management, while also providing essential team support and handling administrative tasks. The ideal candidate is deeply passionate about fashion and accessories, with a strong eye for trends and materials.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Stay ahead of key trends and translate them into compelling merchandise concepts.
  • Contribute to the development calendar by proposing innovative ideas, whether as standalone products or as complementary pieces to makeup launches.
  • Collaborate with the purchasing team to source and introduce new merchandise suppliers.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with suppliers to ensure seamless development processes.
  • Create detailed and comprehensive product briefs that clearly outline vision and specifications.
  • Manage ongoing communication with suppliers through daily follow-ups via email or calls, ensuring product attributes align with expectations.
  • Work cross-functionally with the PD Operations, Product, and Brand Marketing teams to bring ideas to life, ensuring merchandise aligns with both consumer demand and industry trends.
  • Conduct internal evaluations of product submissions, assessing attributes such as shade, functionality, and overall quality, and present findings to the team.
  • Lead and mentor a junior team member, fostering growth and development.
  • Oversee the end-to-end product development process, from concept to launch, managing multiple projects simultaneously while mitigating risks through clear communication and strategic planning.
  • Partner with the NPD team to support and manage the full product development cycle, ensuring adherence to critical paths (CPA) and problem-solving to keep launches on schedule.
  • Attend monthly meetings with the Founder, alongside the Director of Product Development and the Marketing team, to align on product direction and approvals.
  • Travel as needed to meet suppliers, conduct on-site approvals, and stay ahead of emerging trends through market research.

Requirements:

  • Self-motivated, articulate, and deeply committed to the brand’s vision.
  • Thrives in a fast-paced environment, adapting seamlessly to shifting priorities.
  • Exceptional organizational and communication skills, with the ability to independently find solutions.
  • Detail-oriented while efficiently managing multiple, rapidly evolving projects.
  • Strong research skills to identify trends, materials, and market opportunities.
  • A collaborative team player, adaptable to change and mindful of team dynamics.
  • Passionate about the fashion industry, with knowledge of key brands, products, bloggers, and influencers.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
  • 2 to 3 years of experience in the fashion industry, preferably in clothing, accessories, bags, or footwear.
  • A degree in fashion is a plus but not a requirement.
