The Senior Procurement Specialist is responsible for leading sourcing initiatives, negotiating contracts, and managing supplier performance to achieve optimal value for Advansys. This role requires a strong understanding of procurement processes and extensive experience with SAP to enhance efficiency and effectiveness in the procurement function.
Responsibilities:
- Develop and implement sourcing strategies that align with organizational goals while leveraging SAP for procurement processes.
- Negotiate contracts with suppliers, ensuring favorable terms and compliance with organizational policies.
- Manage supplier relationships, performance assessments, and continuous improvement initiatives to drive efficiency and quality.
- Conduct market analysis to identify trends, pricing strategies, and potential supplier risks.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including finance, operations, and engineering, to support procurement initiatives and drive value.
- Develop and maintain procurement policies and procedures, ensuring adherence to best practices and regulatory requirements.
- Utilize SAP for procurement data reporting and analysis, tracking procurement metrics to improve decision-making.
- Mentor and train junior procurement staff on procurement processes and SAP usage.
- Continuously seek opportunities for cost savings and process improvements across the procurement function.
