As the Technical Design Director - Theme Park at Qiddiya Investment Company, you will be at the forefront of bringing our visionary theme park projects to life. Your expertise will guide the technical aspects of design, ensuring that all attractions and facilities meet the highest standards of safety, functionality, and aesthetics. You will work closely with creative teams and various stakeholders to translate innovative concepts into reality.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead the technical design and development of theme park attractions, ensuring compliance with industry standards and safety regulations.
- Collaborate with creative directors, engineers, and project managers to create feasible and innovative design solutions.
- Oversee the preparation of technical documentation, including drawings, specifications, and project plans.
- Conduct design reviews and technical assessments, providing constructive feedback to ensure quality and alignment with project goals.
- Review and approve vendor and contractor submissions related to technical design aspects.
- Manage relationships with external technical consultants and contractors to facilitate project execution.
- Stay updated with emerging trends and technologies in theme park design and engineering.
- Mentor and lead a team of technical designers, fostering a culture of innovation and technical excellence.
- Participate in cost estimation and budgeting for technical design components, ensuring financial efficiency.

- Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Architecture, or a related field; a Master’s degree is a plus.
- A minimum of 12-15 years of experience in technical design, with significant experience in theme park or amusement park projects.
- Proven track record in managing complex technical design aspects of large-scale attractions.
- Strong understanding of engineering principles, safety standards, and operational requirements in the theme park industry.
- Experience with project management and coordination across diverse teams and stakeholders.
- Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to convey complex technical concepts clearly.
- Proficient in technical design software and tools, as well as project management applications.
- Strong leadership skills with the ability to inspire and develop technical design teams.
- Ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines while maintaining a focus on quality and innovation.
