The Infrastructure and Data Center Engineer plays a pivotal role in the design, implementation, and maintenance of IT infrastructure and data center ecosystems. This position necessitates specialized knowledge of virtual servers, networking systems, storage solutions, and cloud infrastructure. The suitable candidate will possess essential understanding in networking and security, emphasizing the management of infrastructure and data center operations. Responsibilities encompass overseeing both physical and virtual systems to guarantee optimal availability and performance, as well as facilitating business continuity through robust and scalable infrastructure solutions.<\/p>

Key Responsibilities:<\/strong><\/p>

· Infrastructure and Data Center Oversight:<\/strong><\/p>

  • Design, deploy, and sustain comprehensive IT infrastructure solutions, involving servers, storage, and networks, in both on-premises and cloud environments.
  • Manage and fine-tune data center operations, ensuring the seamless performance of servers, storage devices, and networking components.
  • Continuously monitor environmental conditions (power, cooling, and physical security) of the data center to uphold system uptime and reliability.

· Virtualization and Cloud Oversight:<\/strong><\/p>

  • Administer virtual server environments utilizing platforms such as VMware, Hyper-V, or equivalent technologies.
  • Oversee cloud infrastructure services, which include virtual machines, storage, and networking on platforms like AWS, Azure, or GCP.
  • Implement and manage hybrid cloud architectures, integrating on-premises and cloud resources based on business requirements.

· UC and Collaboration Management:<\/strong><\/p>

  • Deploy, configure, and maintain Cisco Unified Communications Manager (CUCM) to fulfill enterprise communication demands.
  • Troubleshoot VoIP systems, call routing, and their integration with other collaborative tools.
  • Ensure reliability and safety of communication systems while implementing best practices for peak call quality and redundancy.

· Networking and Security Application:<\/strong><\/p>

  • Utilize foundational knowledge of networking concepts and security practices to support the infrastructure environment.
  • Assist in the configuration and troubleshooting of networking devices, such as routers, switches, and firewalls.
  • Implement security best practices within infrastructure and data center settings, ensuring alignment with organizational policies and industry standards.

· System Administration and Maintenance Tasks:<\/strong><\/p>

  • Oversee installation, configuration, and upkeep of physical and virtual servers, networking systems, and storage solutions.
  • Conduct routine updates, patches, and backups to sustain system integrity and security.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve technical discrepancies about hardware, software, and network components.

· Load Balancing and Firewall Management:<\/strong><\/p>

  • Configure, manage, and optimize load balancers (e.g., F5, Citrix ADC) to assure effective traffic distribution and application availability.
  • Implement, monitor, and manage firewalls (e.g., Palo Alto, Fortinet, Cisco ASA) to uphold security policies and safeguard against cyber threats.
  • Analyze traffic behavior, identify anomalies, and mitigate risks regarding network security and application performance.

· Disaster Recovery and Continuity Planning:<\/strong><\/p>

  • Develop and sustain disaster recovery strategies to ensure business continuity during system failures or outages.
  • Let regular backup and recovery exercises validate the efficiency of disaster recovery plans, modifying them when necessary.

  • Create and retain meticulous documentation for infrastructure configurations, data center arrangements, and operational procedures.
  • Provide periodic reports regarding infrastructure performance, data center operations, and security statuses to management.

  • Engage collaboratively with IT teams and diverse departments to fulfill the infrastructure and data center needs.
  • Offer technical support and troubleshooting for issues related to infrastructure and data center, ensuring minimal business disruption.

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a similar discipline.
  • A minimum of 5+ years in IT infrastructure and data center engineering.
  • Strong foundational knowledge of networking, security, Linux, and Windows systems.
  • Experienced with virtualization technologies (e.g., VMware, Hyper-V) and cloud platforms (e.g., AWS, Azure, GCP).
  • Proficient in CUCM, load balancing, and firewall management.

  • Infrastructure and Cloud Certifications:
    • Microsoft Certified Solutions Associate (MCSA) or Microsoft Certified: Azure Administrator Associate (MCAE).

  • Data Center Certifications:
