Data Center Operations Section Manager

Purpose of Job

The job holder is responsible for managing and controlling ZATCA’s datacenter facilities and IT inventory and ensure efficient and effective utilization of IT assets, within set standards and processes.

Job Responsibilities

Strategy and Planning

• Implement and ensure the achievement of ZATCA's strategy, aspirations and Data Center Operations specific objectives
• Provide input to identify Data Center Operations required projects to meet future demands
• Implement plans and provide input to enable achievement of Data Center Operations goals that support ZATCA’s overall strategic plans
  
  
  

Data Center Management

• Evaluate best practices for the design and maintenance of data centers and prepare corresponding plans and documents for expansion or upgrade (server room layout, heat maps, rack elevations, cable management, etc.)
• Support and participate in the design and commissioning of IT data center facilities and implement projects in order to increase current facilities’ capacity, efficiency, sustainability, and reliability
• Manage data center floor space, and oversee the installation of cabinets, racks, cabling, cooling systems, etc., in order to ensure efficient utilization
• Oversee routine maintenance and emergency services on a variety of critical systems such as access controls, CCTVs, generators, UPS systems, etc., in order to ensure that maintenance procedures have been followed and work has been completed according to standards
• Review operation and maintenance reports and assess data center performance metrics against set of KPIs and benchmarks in order to provide operational direction on actions to be taken
  
  
  

IT Inventory Management

• Maintain IT asset management processes and tools in order to manage ZATCA’s IT assets with respect to cost, risk, redistribution, control, and compliance
• Supervise and control IT assets’ lifecycle, from reception to disposal, in order to ensure proper tracking and up-to-date inventory details
• Manage and maintain data center, infrastructure, and end user’s software licenses in order to ensure the continuity of the services and the integrity of ZATCA’s data
  
  
  

People Management

• Participate in the identification and recruitment of key talent
• Guide, mentor and support direct reports in order to execute duties according to set policies and processes
• Perform on-the-job training for direct reports and provide feedback

Education

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or equivalent is required
• Master’s degree in Information Technology Management, Computer Science, Business Administration, or equivalent is preferred
  
  
  

Experience

An optimal of 7 years of relevant experience, with a preferred 2 years of experience in managerial level
