To supervise and manage the storing and warehousing activities in a plant, including the receipt, storage and dispatch of equipment and supplies, ensuring adequate levels of inventory, whilst meeting user requirements in a timely and efficient manner.
People Management
- Organise and supervise the activities and work of subordinates to ensure that all work within a specific area is carried out in an efficient manner which is consistent with operating procedures and policy.
Warehouse Management
- Plan warehouse layout and space requirements to achieve full warehouse optimization, whilst planning for future capacity requirements.
- Apply a physical classification system to items to ensure similar nature are stored in pre-designated locations for ease of access and optimisation of time and efforts in material handling.
- Evaluate on a continuous basis the store upkeep and maintenance to make sure all storage operations are in place and are conducted as per the defined policies and procedures and HSSE norms.
- Conduct all the warehousing activities (includes receiving, inspecting, storing, and issuing of materials) to ensure all activities are done in safe and efficient manner, and as per the guidelines and procedures.
- Determine the necessary arrangements for required equipment prior to arrival of cargo, ensuring prompt unloading of containers in order to avoid additional charges and ensure the stores area is ready to receive such shipment prior to receiving material.
- Maintain awareness of the materials, equipment and supplies in terms of their specifications, unit of quantity, application, location of storage, conditions for storage etc., to ensure the correct issuance of the requisitioned material.
- Collaborate with the respective departments to check shipments of incoming material for their condition, shortage and discrepancies and prepare reports, to ensure the relevant departments are informed in a timely and efficient manner.
Documentation
- Maintain appropriate and compete documentation regarding regulated products and hazards materials and monitor the premises on a regular basis to ensure they are in safe and sound operating conditions and free from any potential risks.
- Consolidate the log of all activities pertaining to reconciliation of materials delivered and dispatched, and submit to management for review and decision-making.
Inventory Management
- Coordinate and participate in special and scheduled stock counts as required, to ensure proper reconciliation between systems/ inventory and warehouses.
Relationship Management
- Liaise with the different functions including Operations, Maintenance, Logistics, and procurement that impact the inventory management process to ensure all the stakeholders are informed and any discrepancies / problems are escalated in a timely manner.
Policies, Processes, Systems & Procedures
- Implement approved departmental policies, processes and procedures, and ensure employee adherence so that work is carried out to the required standard while delivering the required standards of service to customers and stakeholders.
Health, Safety, Security & Environment
- Ensure compliance to all relevant health, safety, security and environmental management policies, procedures and controls across the department to guarantee employee safety, legislative compliance and a responsible environmental attitude.
Reporting
- Ensure that all functional reports are prepared timely and accurately and meet NOMAC’s requirements, policies and quality standards.

- QUALIFICATIONS, EXPERIENCE, & SKILLS:
Minimum Qualifications:
- Diploma or Bachelor in Materials Management (preferred)
Minimum Experience:
- 4-5 years’ experience in the same field.
Skills:
- Understanding of the ERP system
- Knowledge of documentation, law/regulations
- Understanding of supply chain management process
- Planning and organizing skills
- Good knowledge of HSSE rules and regulations
- Ability to manage hazardous materials
- Good communication skills
- Good attention to detail
- Knowledge of basic equipment specifications / storage norms
