Lead Internal Auditor

Purpose of Job

Jobholders at this level are experienced professionals capable of conducting work with general directions. They are primarily concerned with developing solutions to challenges which require some analysis to understand and resolve, and addressing issues escalated from junior levels. They undertake complex operational activities including developing Customs Operations audit program/ RCM, conducting complex Customs operations internal audit interventions, reporting findings, communicating results with concerned functions, aligning on corrective actions, and consolidating all audit findings into a periodic audit report.

Job Responsibilities

• Develop Customs Operations internal audit guidelines and methodologies in line with QA guidelines, and international standards and practices
• Assess required audit resources against current capabilities and identify the need to cooperate and liaise with external auditors to execute specific audits
• Develop Customs Operations internal annual audit plan specifying functions subject to audits, audit frequency and schedule taking into consideration resources availability and targeting key risks and prioritized activities/ area
• Develop Customs Operations audit program/ RCM including audit scope, key areas to be assessed, audit dates and focal points and accordingly notify related functions
• Collect needed documents from functions and develop/update audit checklists and forms

Education

Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Accounting, or equivalent.

Experience

A minimum of 4 years of relevant experience.
