Business Intelligence Lead Expert

Purpose of Job

Jobholders at this level may be regarded as a source of expertise and are responsible for developing frameworks, policies and operational plans. They also analyze complex issues, understand business needs, bring together multiple concepts and translate them into tangible actions and support to enhance performance of the function.

Job Responsibilities

BI Products

• Lead the efforts to grow the adoption of BI tools across ZATCA by proactively thinking of BI tools that could simplify periodic reporting or analysis
• Lead the review and enhancement of the current BI products portfolio, continuously brainstorming about potential enhancements and features
• Define and scope the requirements to develop BI enabled products such as dashboards or reporting tools
• Translate BRDs and SLAs into a set of actions and tasks to deliver products within the required timeframe and quality standards
• Develop complex BI enabled tools and products to support internal and/or external stakeholders
• Monitor the satisfaction of external stakeholders and implement corrective measures to improve the delivery
  
  
  

Data Extraction

• Develop intuitive reporting methodologies to facilitate access to data and maintain an effective reporting governance
• Organize and run awareness sessions across ZATCA to increase the usage of BI self-service platform
• Perform complex reactive data analysis or extraction to support external and/or internal stakeholders in answering strategic questions
• Identify additional data sources, to support requestors in answering their questions, and present findings in the most suitable format
• Monitor the satisfaction of external stakeholders and implement corrective measures to improve the delivery
  
  
  

Data Engineering

• Enhance the data-warehouse by continuously brainstorming about new APIs, data sources or data structures that can be implemented
• Support other analytical teams by developing automated data pipelines and DataMart’s to facilitate data extraction and data analysis
• Develop a set of table views which limit data extraction time and support business requirements
• Identify new data sources to be linked to existing systems
• Collaborate with IT to link data from different systems, and determine ways to obtain new data from other systems
• Reactively enhance data quality by developing data cleaning pipeline, performing relevant root-cause analysis and implementing solutions within the scope of BI
• Organize and participate in workshops to enhance the data quality and reliability in collaboration with IT
• Coordinate with IT to develop solutions to improve connection to the data-warehouse
  
  
  

Organization and Operations

• Follow all relevant policies, processes and standard operating procedures so that work is carried out in a controlled and consistent manner
• Help in solving escalated problems and provide needed support for junior team to ensure work is carried out in an efficient manner
• Escalate complex problems to the relevant person to ensure cases/issues are closed properly
• Perform other duties as requested
  
  
  

People Management

• Train junior staff on the different job activities to ensure transfer of know-how, when applicable
• Provide clear direction, prioritize tasks, assign and delegate responsibility, and monitor the workflow of subordinates/ junior staff
• Support junior staff or direct reports in order to execute their duties according to set policies and processes

Education

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Data Science, or equivalent is required
• Master’s degree in Computer Science, Data Science, Business Admin., or equivalent is preferred

A minimum of 6 years of relevant experience
