The
Senior Accountant is responsible for managing financial reporting, ensuring compliance with accounting standards and tax regulations, and supporting budgeting and cost control. This role involves overseeing accounts payable and receivable, preparing financial statements, and ensuring the company’s financial health and stability.
Key Responsibilities
- Financial Reporting & Compliance:
- Prepare and analyze financial statements, including balance sheets, income statements, and cash flow reports.
- Ensure compliance with local tax regulations and international accounting standards (IFRS/GAAP).
- Assist in internal and external audits, preparing necessary documentation.
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date financial records.
- Accounts Payable & Receivable:
- Manage and reconcile accounts payable and receivable.
- Ensure timely invoicing, payment processing, and follow-ups on outstanding balances.
- Perform bank reconciliations and monitor financial transactions.
- Budgeting & Cost Control:
- Assist in preparing annual budgets, forecasts, and financial analysis.
- Monitor expenses and project costs, ensuring they align with budgetary goals.
- Identify and report cost-saving opportunities.
- Cash Flow & Payroll Management:
- Monitor and manage company cash flow and liquidity.
- Ensure accurate and timely payroll processing, including tax and benefits deductions.
- Coordinate with banks for financial transactions and financing needs.
- Taxation & Compliance:
- Ensure accurate tax filings, including VAT, corporate income tax, and payroll taxes.
- Stay updated on changes in tax laws and financial regulations.
- Liaise with tax authorities and auditors as needed.
- ERP & Financial Systems:
- Maintain and enhance accounting systems and ERP software.
- Support automation and process improvements in financial reporting.
Qualifications & Experience
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
- Minimum 5-7 years of experience in accounting, preferably in a corporate or project-based environment.
- Strong knowledge of financial reporting, tax regulations, and accounting principles (IFRS/GAAP).
- Experience with accounting software (SAP, QuickBooks, Oracle, or similar ERP systems).
- Professional certifications such as CPA, ACCA, or CMA (preferred).
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent attention to detail and ability to meet deadlines.
