An established FMCG company in the SoyBeans and oil industry is seeking an experienced Tax Lead. The primary accountability of this position is to oversee and manage all the Group tax-related matters. You will develop the Tax strategy including efficient planning and play a crucial role in ensuring compliance with local tax regulations, producing accurate tax returns and reports, supporting, and managing transfer pricing process for the group, and monitoring legislative and regulatory tax law developments. Additionally, you will assess tax risks for the group and will serve as business advisor to senior management and key stakeholders aiming at maximizing engagement and achieving qualitative outcomes.

Principal Accountabilities

1. Tax Compliance and Reporting:

• Prepare and file tax returns and reports for all types of taxes applicable to the company operations, including corporate income tax, value-added tax (VAT), withholding tax, and other relevant taxes.

• Ensure compliance with local tax regulations and reporting requirements, including timely submission and accurate calculation of tax liabilities.

• Review and analyze financial data to identify tax implications and optimize tax planning strategies.

• Lead all SoyVen’s tax inspections including relevant analysis and documentations.

• Coordinate with external tax advisors and authorities to resolve tax-related issues and optimize tax planning strategies.

• Review and manage deferred tax provisions to protect the company’s future benefits.

• Safeguard the company's tax asset balance by ensuring accurate assessment and taking the necessary steps for the refunding or balance utilization process.

2. Transfer Pricing Management:

• Lead and support the relevant tax consultants in preparing Companies’ Transfer Pricing studies (Local files, Master files and CbC file).

• Support the business in developing and implementing relevant transfer pricing policies and procedures to ensure compliance with local regulations and international guidelines.

• Support in preparing transfer pricing documentation and analysis to verify intercompany transactions within the group.

• Monitor and update transfer pricing policies as needed to align with changes in business operations and regulatory requirements.

3. VAT and Other Taxes in Switzerland:

• Manage VAT compliance and reporting requirements for SoyVen Sarl, including registration, filing, and payment of VAT returns.

• Stay updated on changes to VAT regulations and other taxes in Switzerland and assess their impact on our business operations.

• Coordinate with external tax advisors and authorities to resolve tax-related issues and optimize tax planning strategies.

4. Monitoring Legislative and Regulatory Developments:

• Monitor legislative and regulatory tax law developments in Egypt and Switzerland to identify changes that may affect our tax obligations and liabilities.

• Assess the potential impact of new tax laws and regulations on our business operations and financial performance.

• Provide recommendations to management on proactive measures to address tax risks and ensure compliance with changing tax requirements.

5. Tax Risk Assessment and Mitigation:

• Establish a “proactive and efficient Tax Planning” process and mechanism across all entities.

• Conduct tax risk assessments to identify potential areas of tax exposure and vulnerability within the group.

• Develop and implement strategies to mitigate tax risks and enhance tax compliance across all business units.

• Collaborate with internal stakeholders, including finance, legal, and operations teams, to implement effective tax risk management processes.

• Bachelor’s degree in accounting, Finance, Taxation, or a related field.

• Minimum of 8 years of experience in Multinational companies in the field of tax accounting and compliance, with specific expertise in Egyptian and International Taxation.

• Strong knowledge of corporate income tax, VAT, withholding tax, transfer pricing, and other relevant taxes in Egypt (EU exposure is a plus)

• Experience in preparing and filing tax returns and reports, conducting tax risk assessments, and managing tax audits.

• Proficiency in tax software and ERP systems, with the ability to analyze financial data and generate accurate tax calculations and reports.

• Excellent planning, analytical skills and attention to detail, with the ability to interpret complex tax laws and regulations.

• Effective communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate with cross-functional teams and external stakeholders.

• Proactive approach to staying updated on legislative and regulatory tax law developments and assessing their impact on the business.
