Job Purpose
The Railway Safety Supervisor is responsible for implementing railway safety standards and improving safety performance within RDMC, in line with the Executive Committee's directives. The role ensures adherence to safety procedures, promotes a proactive safety culture, and supports the integration of safety management systems to maintain a safe and compliant railway environment
Responsibilities/Duties

- Assist the HSE Management Team in the development, implementation, and management of the Safety Management System.
- Contribute to the creation of railway safety-related plans, procedures, and strategies.
- Design and deliver safety training in collaboration with the Training Department.
- Review and evaluate the Risk-Based Training Needs Analysis.
- Lead and participate in safety workshops, providing support to operational managers in maintaining risk registers.
- Report all identified events, including non-conformities, hazards, risks, dangerous occurrences, near-misses, incidents, and accidents.
- Conduct investigations and perform detailed analyses of safety-related events.
- Develop and monitor Railway Safety action plans.
- Contribute to the development of a strong Railway Safety culture and integrate related action plans into daily activities.
- Foster a positive safety culture across the company, including among subcontractors and third parties.
- Conduct internal audits to ensure that railway safety processes and tools are implemented as planned by RDMC staff, subcontractors, and third parties working within RDMC-controlled premises and systems.
- Ensure that Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) related to safety are closely monitored, reviewed, and reported in accordance with contractual requirements, and that necessary corrective actions are implemented and reviewed.
- Support the HSE Management Team in compiling Railway Safety-related reports.
- Assist in the changing management process, including assessing the safety implications of proposed changes.
Safety Accountabilities
- Promote a positive safety culture within the workplace and attend safety-related meetings and briefings as required.
- Comply with the Company’s Safety Policy and Safety Management System requirements.
- Submit hazard observations in accordance with established reporting guidelines.
- Identify and mitigate potential risks associated with work activities, ensuring that employees, contractors, and visitors are informed of safety procedures and relevant legislation.
- Ensure the safety of all individuals who may be impacted by the activities, considering their actions and omissions.
- Promote shared responsibility for safety, security, and environmental matters, holding all staff members accountable for reporting and intervening in any violations.
- Perform other duties and responsibilities as assigned.
Qualifications
ESSENTIAL QUALIFICATIONS, KNOWLEDGE & EXPERIENCE
- Bachelor’s degree in engineering or a related field.
- Safety qualifications are recognized by the relevant regulatory authorities.
- Certification in incident investigation, firefighting, and risk management.
Knowledge
- Strong investigative and analytical abilities.
- Experience in designing and delivering safety training programs.
- In-depth knowledge of safety regulations.
- Excellent interpersonal skills.
- Ability to apply a rigorous and methodical approach to problem-solving.
- Strong communication skills with a proven ability to collaborate effectively.
- Proficiency in English, both spoken and written.
Experience
- A minimum of 3 to 5 years of experience in an industrial safety environment (e.g., oil & gas, steel plants, automotive plants), with experience working within multidisciplinary and/or multinational teams.
