Job Title: Director of Information Technology

Department: Information Technology

Purpose:

The Director of Information Technology will lead the strategic direction and operational efficiency of the Information Technology function within the organisation. This pivotal role involves developing and executing a comprehensive IT strategy, ensuring service excellence delivery, and fostering innovation across all branches. The incumbent will shape the organisations digital future, driving the organization towards greater efficiency, digital transformation, and success.

Key Accountabilities:

Build and Execute the IT Strategy

  • Develop and deploy long-term IT strategies and roadmaps aligned with the companies directives set by the CEO and ExCom.
  • Collaborate with key stakeholders to translate business strategies and requirements into IT solutions.
  • Provide regular reviews to the CEO on IT execution versus the approved implementation plan.
  • Lead, prioritize, and evaluate overall IT performance, ensuring successful execution of the IT strategy.

User Experience Excellence

  • Implement and deploy new/effective IT solutions, systems, and tools to ensure a smooth and efficient user work experience.
  • Ensure consistency and frictionless flow of data between business applications.
  • Evaluate isolated, user-driven Shadow IT and determine continuation or integration into central IT.
  • Define solution portfolio and provide consistent solutions to similar business issues/requirements.
  • Ensure consistent deployment of solutions across all entities as part of the IT roadmap.

Digitalization

  • Collaborate with Continuous Improvement (CI) teams to identify automation opportunities.
  • Lead digitalization efforts to enhance customer and business partner experiences.
  • Champion self-service solutions to streamline processes and improve efficiency.

Policies and Procedures

  • Develop and implement effective IT policies and systems to support long-term future demand as defined by senior management.
  • Ensure key data availability to support future business plans.
  • Maintain written documentation, including user and system manuals, and license agreements.
  • Ensure consistent documentation of modifications/upgrades to IT Infrastructure and applications.
  • Prepare system recovery plans aligned with user departments in case of system blackouts.

Budget

  • Plan and control IT budget and expenditures aligned with business priorities.
  • Regularly review actual expenditures versus budget allocations to identify variances and optimize spending.

Qualifications, Experience, Knowledge & Skills:

Must Have:

  • BSc in Information Technology, Computer Science, or equivalent experience.
  • 15+ years of IT experience, including 5+ years in leading IT teams and 10+ years in IT project management.
  • Hands-on experience with modern, cloud-based ERP systems and implementation.
  • Strong interpersonal, communication, and leadership skills.
  • Ability to manage and prioritize tasks in a fast-paced environment.
  • Ability to present technical content to senior executives.
  • Digital transformation experience in retail or appliance segments.

Nice to Have:

  • PMP and ITIL certification.
  • Fluent in Arabic.
