Job Summary:

The Government Relations Officer is responsible for managing the organization's interactions and relationships with government entities, regulatory bodies, and policymakers. They will serve as the primary point of contact and advocate for the company's interests, monitoring legislative and regulatory developments, and proactively engaging with key stakeholders to influence policies, laws, and regulations that impact the business. The Government Relations Officer will work closely with cross-functional teams to ensure the organization's compliance with relevant laws and regulations, and to identify and capitalize on opportunities to shape the regulatory landscape.

Key Responsibilities:

  • -Establish and maintain strong relationships with government officials, legislators, regulatory agencies, and other key stakeholders at the local, state, and federal levels
  • -Represent the Company in front of the Labor and Insurance offices, while maintaining very good relations with the governmental employees
  • -Conduct regular and daily visits to ensure legality of the company’s status in line with the Egyptian Labor Law
  • -Monitor and analyze relevant legislative, regulatory, and policy developments that may impact the organization's operations, and communicate their potential implications to internal stakeholders
  • -Develop and implement strategic government relations plans to effectively advocate for the company's interests and influence policy decisions
  • -Coordinate with internal teams, including legal, compliance, and subject matter experts, to assess the impact of proposed legislation and regulations, and develop appropriate responses and advocacy strategies
  • -Represent the organization at government hearings, regulatory meetings, and industry events to articulate the company's position on key issues
  • -Collaborate with trade associations, industry groups, and coalitions to amplify the organization's voice and influence on shared policy concerns
  • -Provide guidance and support to business units on navigating government compliance requirements and regulatory reporting obligations
  • -Conduct research, prepare briefings, and deliver presentations to educate and inform internal and external stakeholders on relevant government and regulatory matters
  • -Develop and manage the organization's government relations budget, including allocating resources for lobbying activities, political contributions, and other advocacy efforts
  • -Stay abreast of emerging trends, best practices, and innovative approaches in the field of government relations and public policy
  • -Serve as a strategic advisor to the executive leadership team on the potential impact of government and regulatory actions on the organization's operations and growth


Qualifications and Skills:

  • -University graduate
  • -Minimum 2-5 years of experience in government relations, public affairs, or legislative/regulatory advocacy
  • -Extensive knowledge of the legislative and regulatory process, as well as strong relationships within government and political circles
  • -Excellent communication and negotiation skills, with the ability to effectively advocate for the organization's interests
  • -Proven track record of successfully influencing policy decisions and navigating complex political environments
  • -Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to anticipate potential risks and develop proactive strategies
  • -Highly organized and detail-oriented, with the capacity to manage multiple projects and stakeholders simultaneously
  • -Familiarity with compliance requirements, regulatory reporting, and industry-specific regulations
  • -Exceptional interpersonal and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to build and maintain productive relationships specifically with Governmental employees.
  • -Understanding of corporate social responsibility, public-private partnerships, and community engagement
  • -Proficient in using relevant software tools for research, data analysis, and presentation development
