What You'll Do

As a Procurement and Purchasing Officer, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the smooth operation of our client's business. You will be responsible for purchasing essential parts, equipment, and materials, applying rigorous supplier selection criteria to ensure quality. Your ability to identify and recommend reliable suppliers will be key to your success in this role. Additionally, you will be tasked with researching and obtaining quotations for high-cost items while maintaining price comparisons for consumables. Your commitment to ensuring orders are placed with the most effective suppliers will contribute significantly to the efficiency of operations.

• Purchase parts, equipment, and materials by means of purchase order
• Apply supplier selection criteria as outlined in the company's procedures
• Identify and recommend suppliers through investigation and research
• Research and obtain quotations for high-cost items while maintaining price comparisons for consumables
• Ensure orders are placed with suppliers that provide the most effective service
• Obtain Material Safety Data Sheets from suppliers for products supplied to vessel masters
