Job Summary:

The Payroll Officer is responsible for the accurate and timely processing of the payroll for the organization. They will work closely with the Payroll Manager and the HR department to ensure that all employee salaries, benefits, and deductions are calculated correctly and paid on time. The Payroll Officer will also be responsible for maintaining detailed payroll records and ensuring compliance with relevant labor laws and regulations.

Key Responsibilities:

  • -Process bi-weekly or monthly payroll for all employees, including the calculation of salaries, wages, overtime, bonuses, and deductions
  • -Accurately input and update employee payroll information, such as hours worked, leaves taken, and changes in employment status
  • -Generate and distribute employee paychecks, either physically or electronically
  • -Prepare and file all necessary payroll-related tax forms and payments, such as income tax, social security, and other statutory deductions
  • -Reconcile payroll data with financial accounts and provide reports to the Payroll Manager and Finance department
  • -Respond to employee inquiries and concerns related to their pay, deductions, and payroll-related issues
  • -Maintain comprehensive and organized payroll records, both physical and electronic, in compliance with company policies and legal requirements
  • -Assist the Payroll Manager in implementing and maintaining internal controls to prevent payroll errors and fraud
  • -Stay informed of changes in payroll regulations and best practices, and assist in the implementation of necessary updates
  • -Collaborate with the HR department on employee onboarding, terminations, and other payroll-impacting events
  • -Provide support and guidance to the Payroll Manager as needed


Qualifications and Skills:

  • -Associate's degree or diploma in Accounting, Finance, or a related field
  • -Minimum 2-3 years of experience in a payroll officer or payroll specialist role
  • -Proficient in using payroll software and HR information systems
  • -Strong attention to detail and accuracy in data entry and calculations
  • -Excellent organizational and time management skills
  • -Good problem-solving skills and the ability to work under pressure
  • -Strong communication and interpersonal skills to effectively interact with employees
  • -Knowledge of labor laws, payroll regulations, and best practices
  • -Certification in Payroll Administration or Certified Payroll Professional (CPP) is an advantage
  • -Experience in a multi-country or multinational payroll environment is preferred
