Procurement Specialist

Based in Dubai and reporting into the Procurement Market Head MENA, you will be responsible for the ordering process of materials, products and services and orders delivery in MENA region, including the management of strong internal and external stakeholder relationships, to ensure that material resources are consistent with material planning schedules and delivered upon agreed time, terms and conditions. In addition, you will be responsible for purchasing data management in ERP and managing reports.

Responsibilities

  • Follow up on material ordered to ensure timely order confirmation in line with customer expectations
  • Coordinate with suppliers and factories to ensure timely dispatch and arrival of goods
  • Ensure accurate, timely and complete documentation related to receipt for prompt clearance of goods from customs
  • Update internal customers on timely manners for any change in delivery schedule of outstanding purchase orders
  • Act as point of contact with regards to queries from stakeholders around inbound sourcing of goods from suppliers
  • Maintain good relationships with suppliers to improve their processes and performance
  • Ensure a Lean process focus and continuous improvement as per QHSE requirements
  • Resolve supplier quality issues and supplier noncompliance based on internal dormakaba standards
  • Assist in managing SAP Material Master (MM) Applications for relevant warehouses/locations for maintenance of accurate purchase data
  • Support Procurement Market Head in implementing purchasing strategy through the execution of tasks
  • Prepare & submit reports upon requests

Knowledge, Skills, And Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree, preferably in Business Administration. Specialist education or certification in supply chain management is highly desirable.
  • Minimum of 8 years of procurement experience within the manufacturing or logistics sector, encompassing the requirements outlined below.
  • Proficiency in SAP - PS8 (Procurement & Material Management Module).
  • Extensive experience in end-to-end procurement processes for both import and local sourcing.
  • Expertise in logistics management, including the coordination and oversight of shipment processes.
  • In-depth knowledge of shipping documents and compliance with import and export regulations.
  • Experience managing regular import shipments.
  • Proven track record of managing 500+ SKUs and handling 50+ Purchase Orders (POs) per day.
  • Excellent skills in MS Office applications (Word & PowerPoint).
  • Strong commercial understanding and broad knowledge of supply chain and logistics concepts and processes.
  • Excellent negotiation and influencing skills.
  • Proficient in English, with excellent spoken and written communication skills.
  • Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to handle complaints and urgent requests with minimal supervision.
