JOB DESCRIPTION – Country Manager Egypt
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
1. Lead and develop the Egypt team
- Leads the Egypt team in an engaging way to ensure commitment and motivation in line with STADA values (Integrity, ONE STADA, Agility, Entrepreneurship).
- Ensures buy-in and ownership of the vision and targets by the team.
- Identifies talent, actively facilitates their career development, and leads the succession planning.
- Defines and reviews individual objectives on a regular basis and ensures employees receive the necessary support to deliver high performance against agreed targets.
- Ensure effective communication between all functions (direct reports and support functions).
2. Defines and implements the Egypt Strategy strategy
- Defines and communicates a vision for Egypt
- .Responsible for initiating, exploring, simulating, and presenting the right go to market model in Egypt which entails team structure and partnerships set up
- .Is accountable for the overall strategic planning and direction of activities within the country
- .Continuously monitors competitive performance and local trends, anticipating local risks and opportunities
- .Leverages opportunities in the local market and adjusts the business strategy where and when relevant
- .Oversees adapting her/his organization to business needs
- .Takes an entrepreneurial leadership on developing the Egypt business inclusive of M&As where business case is viable
3. Defines and implements the brand and marketing plans
- Leverages local and global insights to develop best-in-class brand plans in coordination with global and regional teams as follows: For all brands in global categories: adapt and implement global category/brand strategies and innovation in close coordination with regional marketing leads.
- For all other local brands, the Country Manager is fully accountable for the development and execution of the strategy and innovation.
- brand and marketing input during strategic exercise, specifically for Strat. Plan and Budget.
- Leads the execution of brand plans via in-depth tactical planning.
- Active cross-functional collaboration (i.e., with all Business Functions, i.e., Regulatory, Supply Chain, Finance, etc.) in all relevant activities of the business (marketing and business planning, product promotion, and advertising, etc.).
4. Defines and implements the commercial and trade strategy.
- Builds on market insights to define a commercial and trade marketing strategy.
- Coordinates implementation and monitoring of commercial action plans.
- Leads key account management and develops strong customer relationships.
- Owns the relationship/leads discussions with specific trade partners.
- Is accountable for gross-to-net.
5. Leads the development of the local Country portfolios accountable for the definition of Egypt portfolio development priorities and implementation of the global brand development in the local market.
- Leads the innovation process in coordination with the Global Innovation teams to ensure consistent delivery of new products on the market (Freshness).Supervises new product launches.
- Supports local licensing-in/out activities where these have been agreed with the global teams.
6. Holds full P&L accountability for the Egypt business
- Has full budget and P&L ownership within own Country and is responsible for operational effectiveness and market share improvement.
- Monitors the P&L, anticipating and managing risks, to ensure achievement of business targets in both Sales and EBITDA.
- Continuously challenges the business models (including commercial and marketing/trade marketing strategy in each channel) in view of STADA’s growth strategy and the payback of their investments.
- Constantly reviews resources allocation to optimize the P&L, to meet Sales and EBITDA targets, and to capture business opportunities.
7. Supervises promotional and advertisement activities
- Defines promotional and advertisement resource allocation according to brand strategies, always ensuring cost-efficiency and particular focus on controllable expenses.
- Defines sizing and organization of sales force and merchandizing teams based on customer segmentation and targeting.
- Defines objectives for sales force and merchandizing teams and applies KPIs to manage their performance.
- Sets up appropriate management/financial control tools to monitor performance of all promotional and advertisement investments.
8. Ensures operational and supply management
- Monitors customer satisfaction and performance and ensures back-office management excellence.
- Validates sales forecasting and ensures alignment with the Supply team.
- Ensures implementation of a dedicated Country supply dashboard with key KPIs
- Implements, in coordination with supply partner, action plans to anticipate and address forecast, stock, shipping and destruction issues to minimize business impact and optimize customer satisfaction.
- Defines, together with Supply, the adequate governance to best support Country needs and to optimize distribution costs.
9. Is actively involved or leads external and internal stakeholder management activities
- Develops and maintains relationships with key opinion leaders, health authorities, retailers, and trade groups.
- Leverages on external affairs and market access resources at country, region, or global level to ensure optimal access.
- Continuously engages with other Countries and seeks alignment whenever required.
- Ensures engagement and alignment of internal expert functions such as medical, regulatory, legal, etc.
10. Ensures compliance of all a
- full compliance with STADA Group rules as well as local reg
- responsible to manage HSE issues (Health, Safety and Environment) with the support of the local
- HSE team. Acts as a role-model of ethics and business integrity.
