Buying Manager Womenswear

A successful and growing Womenswear retailer is seeking an experienced Buying Manager to manage a ($100-120M) category. The role reports to the Head of Buying. The position is based in Dubai.

Buying Manager – Womenswear: The Role:

  • Develop and manage the buying plans and budget for the category ($100-120M), whilst aligning the plan to the overall womenswear business plan and buying strategy
  • Work closely with the Design and Development teams to be on top of range plans and trends. Ensure that the product proposition for the category is commercial
  • Responsible for buying margins, so timely buying (OTB management) is critical as is stock control.
  • Work closely with retail teams to be up to date on store sales performance (sell through rates etc).
  • Lead improvements in category buying by reducing time, improve margins etc
  • Manage and develop vendor and supplier relationships
  • Work alongside the sourcing team to synergise strategies and processes
  • Regular store visits (own as well as competition) to benchmark and improve

You will

  • have extensive experience in womenswear buying ideally in the UK/Europe within large retail/brand format
  • have a collaborative personality, be able to manage an international team, be receptive to ideas and new ways of working.
  • have a global mindset, be able to take a fresh view on new markets, new trends
  • be highly commercial and competitive, be ahead of the curve and have an acute understanding of products and commercials
  • a sharp business acumen and a broad skill set in management within large matrix structures
