Supply Chain Specialist

Overview

The Supply Chain Specialist plays a critical role in ensuring the efficient and effective procurement of goods and services from external suppliers while driving excellence in vendor management practices. This position involves overseeing vendor relationships, optimizing procurement processes, and ensuring compliance with procurement policies and procedures.

The opportunity

This is a pivotal role within the organization responsible for ensuring that the procurement function operates efficiently, complies with regulations, and delivers value through strategic vendor relationships and cost management. This role requires a combination of leadership, analytical, and interpersonal skills to drive excellence in vendor management and procurement practices.

Responsibilities

Procurement Excellence:

• Develop and implement procurement best practices to optimize the procurement process.
• Support and coordinate the Procurement Committee coordination and activities.
• Develop and manage procurement budgets.
• Identify cost reduction opportunities and implement cost-saving initiatives.
• Identify areas for process improvement and drive continuous improvement initiatives.
• Stay up-to-date with industry best practices and emerging trends.
  
  

Vendor Relationship Management

• Establish, register and maintain strong relationships with key vendors.
• Follow procurement and company policies in ensuring that vendor registration is conducted in full compliance.
• Engage in creating classification of vendors during registration so that vendors with similar capabilities are considered for RFQs and Tenders.
• Support the Procurement team in providing supplier list for their relevant projects as and when required.
• Conduct vendor performance evaluations and manage vendor scorecards.
  
  

Compliance And Risk Management

• Ensure compliance with procurement policies, regulations, and ethical standards.
• Manage vendor risk assessments and implement risk mitigation strategies.
• Monitor and address any compliance violations or irregularities.
  
  

Data Analysis And Reporting

• Conduct spend analysis to identify areas for improvement.
• Utilize data analytics tools to gather and analyse procurement data.
• Generate reports and provide insights to support decision-making.
  
  

Cross-Functional Collaboration

• Collaborate with other departments, such as finance, legal, and operations, to align procurement activities with organizational goals.
• Engage with internal stakeholders to understand their needs and requirements.
• Organize PROCUREMENT ROAD SHOWS with relevant stakeholders for better procurement insights and reminders.
  
  

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree with an experience of at least 7 years. Degree in Business, supply chain management, or a related field will be of added value.
• - Proven experience in vendor management and supply chain processes.
• - Knowledge of procurement software and data analytics tools.
• - Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• - Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
• - Ability to work collaboratively in a cross-functional team environment.
• - Certification in procurement (e.g., CSCP, CIPS) is a plus.
• Knowledge of current thinking in Human Resources issues and trends and evidence of Continuing Professional Development.
• Is personally credible and can provide examples and referees at senior levels /multiple disciplines across the organization that validate HR expertise and how strategic aims have been met.
• Desirable – Masters in HR or similar field; CIPD/ SPHR certification is preferred
