Job purpose

  • To expand the Japanese client base in the Middle East and Africa region and provide account management support where required.

Tasks and responsibilities

  • Develop a clear and compelling growth strategy for the portfolio of Japanese clients in the region. This should include white space analysis, prospect identification and prioritization, competitor displacement, value propositions, and sales tactics.
  • Deepen relationships with major Japanese clients based in the Middle East and Africa region, including key markets such as Iraq and Saudi Arabia.
  • Actively manage and grow your own pipeline of new business from lead qualification through to closing deals.
  • Engage clients by actively promoting the use of existing services and communicating new enhancements and products.
  • Collaborate with and support Control Risks experts to strengthen client relationships.
  • Facilitate client interactions with Control Risks experts and their analyses.
  • Provide high level analysis in Japanese language to Japanese companies, offering information on risks, political situations, and crisis management in the Middle East and Africa region that may be useful for them.
  • Participate in various marketing projects (e.g., organizing seminars, writing insights, etc.) conducted by Japan or the EMEA region for companies interested in the Middle East and Africa.
  • Travel from Dubai to other countries in the region as necessary for internal meetings and external business development.

Knowledge and Experience

  • Demonstrable experience of having developed key, high-value client relationships and accounts
  • Proven ability of devising and implementing successful strategies to drive business growth
  • Experience working with different products and services across different industry sectors
  • Proven strong commercial acumen with understanding of delivering higher value / margin services and developing value propositions
  • The ability to think and act across multiple product and service offerings to maximise business potential with clients.
  • Ability to work in a complex, challenging and matrix business environment.

Qualifications and specialist skills

  • Native Japanese language and business-level English language skills (written and verbal)
  • Computer literate and competent in Microsoft Office applications including Word, Excel, Outlook, and PowerPoint.
