What you will be doing

  • Identify and pursue new opportunities, including potential partnerships and growth areas
  • Develop and execute business development strategies aimed at expanding Jumia's revenue streams
  • Build and maintain relationships with key partners and stakeholders to support business growth
  • Lead negotiations and contract discussions with potential partners to secure favourable terms and agreements
  • Agree with the commercial team on the partnership model, and expected margins and ensure that they reflect correctly on the contractual agreements by aligning internally with the legal teams
  • Develop and implement innovative business development initiatives to drive sales and revenue growth
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams (e.g. legal, Finance,...) to ensure alignment and support for business development initiatives
  • Conduct market research and analysis to identify new business opportunities and trends

What we are looking for

  • Proven experience in business development, sales, or a related field (3-5+ years)
  • Rigour, attention to detail and versatility
  • Ability to work collaboratively, diagnose problems and identify and lead the appropriate solutions
  • Ability to manage several priorities simultaneously - results orientation - while retaining all information
  • Bias for action, strong work ethic and desire to achieve excellence
  • Demonstrated track record of exceeding sales targets and achieving business goals
  • Strong understanding of the company's products or services and target market
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build strong relationships with customers and colleagues
  • English proficiency
