Job Purpose

ENBD Business Strategy takes care of both formulating and implementing business strategy across the Retail Banking and Wealth Management unit. The Strategy team is responsible for strategy development and implementation for Retail Banking. Key areas of responsibility for the team include ensuring alignment of plans and actions across all BU/SUs with division and bank objectives, supporting development of strategic planning and implementing required strategic initiatives for the division and units, helping prioritize ongoing and planned initiatives to enable allocation of resources effectively, building market intelligence and benchmarking to identify regional and international best practices.

The Customer Intelligence and Engagement team (CIE) leverages analytics/market research to empower business teams to adopt data-backed decision making at scale. CIE provides centralized Decision Management support services to Emirates NBD’s Retail Banking division, helping business maximize returns on business opportunities. A 360-degree customer centric approach defines the central platform on which the CIE unit bases its delivery of business enhancing information. This team ensures that information is objectively connected and analyzed to create actionable intelligence and high impact analytical solutions for business leaders as well as staff in retail banking.

Together, the business strategy team and the customer intelligence team complement each other, and the synergies created in the process of unlocking value.

As a Senior Manager – Retail Strategy, you will be integral to the Retail Strategy team and will support strategy development and implementation across the division, strategy development as needed for business and support units, initiate and support new business development, carry out internal and market benchmarking and collation of market intelligence.

Responsibilities

  • Gather and condense strategic information, identify and analyze growth opportunities, and ensure alignment with the overall bank strategy and plans.
  • Analyze BU/SU strengths & weaknesses, develop performance improvement plans with leadership, and track implementation based on milestones & KPIs.
  • Analyze market and products to identify opportunities and generate new business idea, define project designs & milestones, and support new ventures during the start-up phase.
  • Monitor business objectives against budget and KPIs, align balanced scorecards across units with the division and group, and conduct monthly performance reviews.
  • Conduct economic research and competitor analysis to identify opportunities & threats, leverage external consultants for business practices insights, and support market research to gain customer & market insights.
  • Lead and participate in key retail projects, conduct necessary analyses, ensure timely and quality completion, and measure success by tracking KPIs.

Requirements

  • Education
  • Degree from a top-ranking university in Economics, Marketing, Business Administration or Finance, with an outstanding academic record. Post-graduate qualifications are a plus.
  • Experiences
  • 5 to 8 years of experience, including 2-4 years in Banking; consultancy and local market experience are advantageous.
  • Knowledge & Skills
  • Fluency in English, while knowledge of regional languages is an advantage.
  • Excellent oral & written communication skills.
  • Strong numerical, data analysis, and interpretations skills.
