Job Description - IT Manager

Job Purpose

As the IT Manager at Ras Al Khaimah International Airport, you will oversee and manage the airport's IT infrastructure and systems. Leading a team of IT professionals, you will ensure the smooth operation, security, and efficiency of all technology-related activities. This role demands strategic thinking, strong technical expertise, and excellent leadership skills to support the airport's operational needs and long-term goals.

Financial

  • Manage financial objectives by forecasting IT requirements, preparing an annual budget, scheduling expenditures


Process

  • Conduct regular checks on network and data security.
  • Identify and act on opportunities to improve and update software and systems.
  • Develop and implement comprehensive IT policies and procedures, covering architecture, security, and disaster recovery.
  • Communicate with vendors such as HP, Cisco, FortiGate, SITA, ARINC, and Etisalat to resolve technical issues.
  • Maintain and manage all hardware and software at RAK Airport.
  • Oversee the networking infrastructure and architecture, including routers and servers.
  • Manage IP-based networking solutions, encompassing switching, routing, wireless access, and network security. Handle installation, troubleshooting, and maintenance of the IT network.
  • Maintain SITA and Amadeus departure control systems.
  • Ensure SITA DCS connectivity with ARINC, including PC configuration, updates, and troubleshooting of baggage tag and boarding pass printers.
  • Possess knowledge of the CUTE system environment for airlines.
  • Maintain ARINC airport systems and devices, including AODB, AirVue, FIDS, VMuse, BGR, OCR, and DCP.
  • Configure network connectivity for new offices and companies, supporting DCA and other tenants.
  • Coordinate and support government organizations such as Immigration, CID, Police, Drug Squad, and DCA.
  • Configure and maintain the CCTV server and client applications.
  • Maintain the website and web-based applications.
  • Conduct regular system audits to ensure optimal performance and security.
  • Oversee and determine timeframes for major IT projects, including system updates, upgrades, migrations, and outages.
  • Identify opportunities for team training and skills advancement.


Team Leadership

  • Manage and lead a technical team, ensuring efficient operation and fostering professional development.


Qualifications

Bachelors degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related technical field

ITIL Certified

ITIL certified

Cisco Certified Network Professional or similar network related qualification

Experience

  • 5+ years of experience in Information Technology management at airport preferred
  • 2+ years of experience in IT team management
  • Comprehensive understanding of network architecture and client/server technology
  • Proficiency in Virtualization, MS Exchange, Internet & routing protocols, and SQL Support
  • Strong project management skills
  • Understanding of Cloud Computing
  • Experience in Disaster Recovery (DR)
