Job Summary:

Role will be responsible for the developing and accelerating Haleon business in Algeria & Morocco with additional FMCG Portfolio responsibilities for Greater Maghreb including Sahel Markets.

The Business Development Manager will be responsible for developing and implementing a comprehensive business development strategy to increase distribution and reach of the company's brands in the Maghreb markets. This key role will require strong customer management skills, market analysis, and relationship building to drive sales growth and support the company's growth agenda.

Responsibilities:

  • Develop and execute a business development strategy to increase distribution and reach of the company's brands in the Maghreb markets, with a focus on the Mass Market and Pharmacy channels.
  • Manage the customer relationships for Modern Trade customers in the region, working closely with key stakeholders to drive sales growth and customer loyalty.
  • Develop and implement channel plans to increase direct reach to retail chanels by leveraging market insights, customer needs and tailored solutions.
  • Ensure and implement Haleon price value chain in relevant markets.
  • Conduct market analysis to stay ahead of the competition, identifying new business opportunities, and developing strategies to capture these opportunities.
  • Collaborate with the marketing teams to develop and execute customized product portfolios and marketing strategies for the Maghreb markets, with a focus on driving growth and building brand awareness.
  • Lead negotiations with key customers and suppliers in the region, ensuring that contracts and agreements are in place to support the Haleons business goals and objectives.
  • Monitor and report on business performance, market trends, and competitive activity to senior management, providing insights and recommendations to support the company's growth agenda.
  • Work closely with cross-functional teams to ensure timely and effective delivery of products and services to customers in the region, including logistics, finance, and marketing.
  • Frequently travel within the Maghreb markets to support the business development efforts and build relationships with key stakeholders.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Marketing, or related field.
  • At least 5 years of experience in business development, Customer Marketing & Channel Management, with a proven track record of success.
  • Strong customer management skills, with experience of building and maintaining relationships with key stakeholders.
  • Excellent analytical skills, with the ability to develop and implement effective solutions to business challenges.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to effectively communicate with stakeholders at all levels.
  • Strong interpersonal, cross-functional collaboration skills and ability to work effectively with teams across multiple departments.
  • Fluent in Arabic and excellent English skills. Understanding of French has added advantage.
  • Proven leadership and mentoring skills, with the ability to manage and develop a team of direct reports. Self-motivated, driven, results-oriented having a keen passion for driving growth and achieving business objectives.
  • Excited by challenges and complex situations. Ability to work effectively under pressure and manage multiple priorities, with a strong attention to detail.
