ABOUT THE ROLE

 

The Director of Gaming will run the Mondia Gaming Category from product inception to in-life management. The role will be making strategic product decisions, determining how technology is integrated, and ensuring customer and commercial outcomes are maximised for Mondia’s Tenant partners.

The sourcing of market-relevant gaming content is an important part of the role. The role must ensure that the Mondia product always has a pipeline of market-relevant games that drive user engagement and positive lifetime value.
Additional responsibilities include:

Product:

  • Own the Gaming Category P&L for Mondia. Including product CLV, forecasting and business analysis.
  • Attract, build, manage, and develop a talented, diverse, equitable and inclusive team of product managers. Ensure the team is healthy and effective.
  • Put in place key processes and structure to ensure robust, innovative and rapid product development for Mondia in-house developed product alongside Mondia supplier network.
  • Understand Mondia’s strategic and competitive position and deliver products that support that vision.
  • Collaboratively frame, define, guide, deliver, understand, and iterate on systems and features critical to the success of the Mondia gaming product offering.
  • Gather market competitive information to drive teamwide understanding of key systems and features in competing platforms and offerings.
  • Work with the Chief Digital Officer to prioritise and appropriately scope functionalities to achieve gaming portfolio success goals, ensuring the gaming roadmap is focused on the most impactful opportunities and is balancing desires and needs.
  • Evolve and grow the next generation of ambitious, differentiating products that support the product roadmap.
  • Identify and initiate opportunities for new product focus areas.
  • Manage multiple Mondia gaming products and differing priorities; and ensure technical and commercial teams’ commitment to execute by driving technology and product investment business cases and ROI decisions.
  • Lead the team in condensing gamer pain points, partner requirements, competitive and industry landscape into compelling product features and experiences needed for future revenue growth.
  • Analyse and research to build feedback loops that understand gamers needs, validate key product hypotheses, and incorporate those learnings into product backlogs and roadmaps.
  • Gather and present feedback on product goals, from post-release metrics to proposals for improvement, to align the teams on product OKRs, which you will help define.
  • Communicate product teams’ strategies, roadmaps, plans, and priorities to stakeholders and leadership.

Engagement:

  • Become the voice of the gamer within the Mondia organisation. This entails creating a deep understanding of Mondia’s partner network’s customer base and product engagement.
  • Drive engagement and uptake of the Mondia portfolio of gaming products across Mondia’s diverse partner network in EMENA.
  • Work closely with the technology and sales teams to strategically lead the gaming product roadmap with future technology and commercial potential in mind.
  • Understand other functionalities that would drive gamers to use Mondia’s gaming products.
  • Communicate cross-functionally to align team members around a shared understanding of how the team’s work impacts key drivers of platform user experience and product success. Ensure that Mondia’s data analytics orchestration can effectively support hypothesis tracking and AB testing initiatives and embed a data-driven decision making culture within the business

ABOUT YOU: 

Strategic thinking and strong business acumen are essential in this role. We expect you to be well-versed in current gaming and media trends and familiar with a variety of business concepts.

To succeed in this role, you must truly enjoy managing people and relish the challenge of making the most of the resources available. You communicate clearly and thrive on collaboration. Mondia is looking for a senior, strategic, yet still hands-on, Director of Gaming.

Other qualifications include:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Business Admin or similar
  • 10+ years’ experience in a Lead or Senior Product/Commercial Management role with a focus on PaaS products and the gaming industry.
  • Understanding of player community management and player engagement tools, metrics and data collection methodologies.
  • Outstanding track record in driving user and platform growth for digital products across multiple international markets.
  • Strong leadership skills and confidence in leading multiple products and teams.
  • End-to-end Product Management experience (strategy, design, road mapping, testing, pricing to rolling the products out).
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills at a senior and executive level.
  • Proven track record of collaborating effectively with cross-functional teams.
  • High level of willingness to develop technical knowledge.

Nice to have:

  • Strong grasp of statistical concepts and methods.
  • A good grasp of security considerations in Enterprise PaaS offerings for third-party B2B2C distributors.
  • Experience working on large-scale Cloud environments, distributed systems, and enterprise networking.
