Summary

We are looking to hire an Accounting Team Leader to join us in our mission to educate the world. The successful candidate will oversee a team of accountants responsible for financial reporting, reconciliations, and day-to-day accounting operations. The Accounting Team Leader will ensure accurate and timely completion of all accounting tasks, compliance with regulatory requirements, and support the development and implementation of financial controls.

Responsibilities

  • Lead and supervise a team of accountants, including assigning tasks, providing guidance, and conducting performance evaluations
  • Ensure accurate and timely month-end, quarter-end, and year-end close processes
  • Manage invoice processing, payment verification, and vendor relationships for accounts payable to support smooth financial operation
  • Monitor and analyze budget to actual performance monthly to identify variances and recommend corrective actions
  • Prepare financial statements, reports, and budgets to provide a clear overview of the organization's financial status
  • Create and maintain rolling financial forecasts, incorporating market trends, business performance, and external factors to align with changing market conditions and improve business performance
  • Ensure compliance with accounting principles and regulations to adhere to financial integrity and legal compliance
  • Develop the annual budgeting process, working closely with department heads to develop and maintain budgets to ensure alignment with strategic objectives
  • Undertake special projects and conduct analysis as requested by senior management to provide financial insights and support strategic decision-making

Qualifications & Work Experience

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field. CPA or equivalent certification is preferred
  • 5+ years of proven experience in accounting, with significant exposure to accounts receivable and accounts payable functions
  • Strong knowledge of accounting principles, regulations, and best practices
  • Experience with process improvement and implementing accounting system enhancements is a plus
  • Proficiency in accounting software and ERP systems (e.g., Excel, financial planning software)
