Job Purpose

The successful candidate will play a key role managing our in-house studios and associated equipment. The ideal candidate should have excellent oral and written communication skills, organisation skills and a professional presentation. If you have previous experience as a Gaffer or have any prior experience in a photo / video studio or a video production environment, we’d like to meet you.

Key Responsibilities

The Studio Assistant will primarily be responsible for but not limited to the following:

  • Manage studio bookings, ensuring seamless transitions between shoots.
  • Assist photographers and videographers with pre-production tasks, including brainstorming creative ideas, setting up lighting and equipment, and designing sets.
  • Prepare studios before shoots, ensuring everything is functional and ready to use.
  • Work alongside photographers, videographers, and other teams to develop innovative concepts for upcoming shoots.
  • Maintain accurate inventories of studio equipment and props.
  • Sourcing studio equipment and props when required.
  • Organize the prop room for efficient access and easy browsing.
  • Perform basic equipment maintenance, troubleshoot issues, and identify when it's time for quarterly or yearly servicing.
  • Maintain a clean and organized studio environment for a professional atmosphere.

PERSON REQUIREMENTS

  • Knowledge of photo/video equipment (Cameras and lighting)
  • Proficiency in MS Office (MS Word, MS Excel, MS Outlook)
  • Excellent time management skills and the ability to prioritise work
  • Attention to detail and problem-solving skills
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Strong organisational skills with the ability to multi-task
  • Ability to take initiative and be proactive
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Ability to handle confidential information with discretion
  • Flexible schedule to accommodate occasional evening and weekend hours
