Responsibilities

  • The main function of the role is to manage the procurement support functions ensuring that the services provided are of a consistently high quality in terms of effectiveness, efficiency and best value and in the provision of a proactive, dynamic and professional service to assist with the delivery of business objectives across the group
  • Liaising with stakeholders, you will develop, promote and embed procurement and supply chain management tools and techniques that drive best practice across the group, recognizing and adapting to local variances to ensure that the function is regarded as an enabler not a blocker.
  • You will ensure that a proactive, creative and challenging approach to managing organizational expenditure on bought-out spend on goods and services is constantly applied, being an ambassador for professional procurement, applying an expansive approach to delivering a holistic view of supply chain management, developing strategic relationships, and forging new ways of working to deliver value for money for the business, minimize risk, protect shareholder value and enhance the Core42 brand.
  • The main duties for this role will cover the strategy, continuous improvement, innovation, compliance, capability, development, stakeholder engagement, supplier management, risk mitigation and people management. - Manage the company’s supply portfolio ensuring transparency of spending
  • Generate and implement efficient sourcing and category management strategies
  • Act as an interface between suppliers and other relevant departments on purchasing processes and new projects and activities - Analyse and calculate costs of procurement and suggest methods to decrease expenditure - Negotiate contracts, improve prices and terms of business with suppliers and review opportunities to make business savings utilising negotiation and procurement best practice tools and methods - Optimize sourcing procedures to attain maximum efficiency
  • Build, maintain and manage supplier relationships and keep up good communications
  • Ensure that a professional and consistent approach is taken in relation to all supplier relationships
  • Cooperate with stakeholders to guarantee agreement on terms and processes
  • Research and anticipate shifts in the negotiating power of suppliers
  • Perform cost and scenario analysis, and benchmarking
  • Estimate risks and apply risk minimizing techniques
  • Discover and partner with trustworthy vendors and suppliers
  • Determine quantity and timing of deliveries - Assist in the design of the ERP system at the Procurement level.
  • Building and strengthening relationships with internal and external customers
  • Comply with the Group Procurement Policy and report to Procurement Manager for all activities

Qualifications

  • Relevant business/commercial or manufacturing /engineering degree preferred.
  • Chartered Institute of Procurement & Supply (CIPS) or similar qualification or studying towards CIPS qualification would be beneficial
  • Previous experience of working in a purchasing team preferably within a technology or distribution environment
  • Good knowledge of purchasing, negotiation, commercial understanding and cost breakdown
  • Experience of working closely with suppliers
  • Able to add value, reduce costs and input to business improvements
  • An understanding of distribution processes and components would be advantageous
  • Computer literate, with advanced Excel skills/abilities
