Job Description

The Project Design Coordinator will provide support to the senior project management and technical teams and help ensure the delivery and successful completion of design and construction projects under their oversight.

Responsibilities Include

  • Supporting the international design engineer and construction supervisors in coordinating design deliverables in Egypt.
  • Maintaining document control for drawings, reports, Contracts and other deliverables issued to Clients and Contractors.
  • Conducting site visits to project areas if required to meet stakeholders and support data collection in the governorates of Qena and Sohag.
  • Participating in stakeholder engagement activities when required. This could involve supporting branch staff in arranging consultations or hosting events in the governorates.
  • Supporting procurement of goods to our stakeholders in Qena and Sohag in collaboration with delivery partners, branch staff and following MM due diligence procedures.
  • Coordinating delivery of procured goods to our project stakeholders in collaboration with operations team.
  • Working with the Project Principal and Project Manager to deliver a commercially successful project, while ensuring contract terms and risk mitigations are put into practice and that risks are actively managed throughout project delivery.
  • Support with identifying and maintaining a forecast of resourcing needs and requirements for successful project delivery.
  • Supporting and maintaining and record of timesheets for invoicing during construction phase.
  • Supporting the construction supervisors ensure the highest possible HSE (Health, Safety and Environmental) work practice, in accordance with the applicable national, international and industrial standards.
  • The assignment is based in Egypt and is currently a full-time role (approximately from September 2024 to October 2026). Extension beyond 2026 is possible, depending on project performance.
  • While this role is full-time in Egypt, additional inputs, potentially including assignments outside Egypt and head office inputs (Cambridge UK, or Arnhem Netherlands) may be considered depending on the candidate.

Candidate Specification

The following experience/capabilities areessentialfor this role:

  • University degree in civil engineering or related subjects.
  • Based in the Cairo with regular field trips to the governorates of Qena and Sohag.
  • Computer skills (Microsoft Office software). An ability to work with design software is an advantage
  • Good interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Ability to problem solve and learn new skills in a dynamic project environment.
  • Driven to achieve excellence in role performance
  • Fluent in English and Arabic.
