Key Responsibilities:
- Develop detailed mechanical designs for substation components and underground cable systems.
- Create and review technical drawings, specifications, and plans.
- Ensure designs meet all relevant safety, quality, and environmental standards.
- Perform load calculations and stress analysis for mechanical components.
- Lead and manage mechanical engineering projects from conception to completion.
- Coordinate with other engineering disciplines, project managers, and stakeholders.
- Prepare project timelines, budgets, and resource allocation plans.
- Monitor project progress and make necessary adjustments to meet deadlines.
- Oversee the installation of mechanical systems in substations and underground cable routes.
- Conduct site inspections to ensure adherence to design specifications and safety standards.
- Provide technical support during construction and address any issues that arise.
- Implement quality control procedures to ensure high standards in all mechanical engineering tasks.
- Ensure compliance with local, national, and international codes and regulations.
- Conduct risk assessments and develop mitigation strategies.
Required Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related field.
- Master’s degree or professional certifications (e.g., PE, PMP) are a plus.
- Minimum of 10 years of experience in mechanical engineering, with a focus on substations and underground cable laying.
- Proven track record of managing large-scale engineering projects.
- Proficiency in CAD software (AutoCAD, SolidWorks, etc.).
- Strong knowledge of mechanical systems used in electrical substations and underground cable installations.
- Familiarity with relevant standards and regulations (e.g., IEEE, IEC).
- Excellent project management and organizational skills.
