As a member of the Book to Report team, you will oversee the financial operations of the group entities in the region. Using your specialist skills and experience, you will take responsibility and act as a reliable business partner who delivers high quality accounting services. You will have a "bird's eye view" of our company, will contribute to value-led management and thus actively design the future of BASF. You’ll foster a collaborative and high-performance team environment. You support and back up other teams, colleagues as may be required.

Regional scope:

  • Egypt & The UAE

Functional / Operational tasks

  • Financial Accounting – Accurate and timely management and financial reporting. Reconcile general and subsidiary ledger accounts. Prepare statements and provide accurate data to external auditors.
  • General Ledger - Handling the financial data such as accruals, prepayments, GL postings into ledgers and prepare required reports; along with handling the posting activities of the company’s utilities & insurances & handling the personnel related expenses
  • Treasury: handle relationships with operating banks and their daily operations, monitoring the implementation of cash transactions recordings on SAP, and performing periodical bank reconciliations as well as being responsible for payment runs and company’s corporate credit card scheme.
  • Fixed assets management: Managing the additions and disposals of FA and maintaining its register as well as Maintaining, evaluating, and handling postings of the Leasing contracts on monthly basis.
  • Controlling - Maintain cost allocation tables and provide detailed analysis of KPI including cost development in comparison with comparative figures.
  • Projects – Support strategic projects and provide insights to support business decisions.
  • Tax – Support in analyzing cost and sales data for transfer pricing, corporate taxes, VAT and other statutory fillings.
  • Supporting and acting as the back-up of the AP Accountant when necessary

Education:

  • Bachelor’s degree in a Business Discipline such as Finance, Accounting or Economics.
  • Professional Certificate in Accounting is a plus

Working Experience:

  • Minimum 5-7 years of experience required in financial reporting, budgeting, and general ledger management
  • Experience working with similar systems in a similar business environment

Technical & Professional Knowledge:

  • Excellent Knowledge of Accounting Processes

IT skills:

  • Excellent knowledge of MS Office Applications
  • SAP User

Language skills (level):

  • Fluent in English
