Thomson Reuters Regional Head of HR - CEMA

The Regional Head of HR, CEMA is accountable for the leadership, policy, governance, and delivery of HR services, the leadership and development of HR team for the region. The role will partner closely with the HRBPs, HR Centers of Excellence and Global Regional HR teams to develop, promote and deliver a world-class suite of HR advisory and operational services, enabled by technology.

This role will also provide expert HR advice and support to leaders in driving business growth and making sure that we have the right talent in the right roles as well as building the overall talent pipeline.

This role will be accountable for delivering HR services and operational support to a diverse population of managers and employees.

The job holder will partner closely with business-unit HR colleagues and HR Centers of Excellence to develop promote and deliver a world-class suite of HR services. These services will include support of core/annual HR processes, as well as thought-leadership/collaboration on the design and implementation of new programs and initiatives.

About The Role

In this opportunity as Regional Head of HR, you will be responsible for:

  • Talent and Employee Engagement. Developing appropriate approaches to ensure that we build local engagement including a specific focus on compensation and benefits, talent and learning & development.
  • Ensuring that the locations attract and retain the talent needed to deliver the stakeholders business goals, by developing and implementing high volume recruitment processes and attrition management tools.
  • Involvement in strategic initiatives, projects, M&A as required.
  • Manage and Co-chair the European Works Council (EWC) and associated requirements
  • Act as "the voice" of the Region in supporting global HR and business initiatives. Stakeholder Management. Working across the matrix organization with focus on collaboration with business and HR teams as required.
  • Service delivery for hire to retire processes across the region, delivered through company systems policies and processes. Leading a team of HR staff across the region. Continue to evolve and improve across the region.
  • Support the negotiation and agreement process with councils, unions and other organised bodies.
  • Partner with the business to ensure the safety and security of employees and operations as and where required in different parts of the region.
  • Continue to evolve, improve and automate the customer experience and deliver consistent HR service excellence to internal customers across all regions (employees, managers, HR colleagues, vendor partners) while continuously improving existing workflows and processes, HR policies and procedures, tools and infrastructure.
  • Collaborate with HR Business Partners, HR Centers of Excellence (Global Mobility, Talent & Development, Reward & Benefits and HRIS) to deliver service innovation and improvements.
  • Provide guidance on the regional/local interpretation of global policies and ensure consistency and compliance with local laws and governing bodies. Expand Workday knowledge and expertise.
  • Leverage Workday knowledge and expertise to ensure integrity of data, efficiency of processes, and excellence of services offered by the regional team.
  • Collaborate with other regional teams as required. Deliver performance and value for money.
  • Establish, measure, and evaluate service levels, volume, quality, costs, satisfaction levels, and other metrics as appropriate.
  • Supporting global HRBP’s, and business leaders across a multitude of different business challenges and priorities in complex regions


About You

You're a fit for the role of Regional Head of HR if your background includes:

  • 10 years + HR experience both as a generalist and in an operations role
  • Extensive Business partnering and HR Service Delivery experience, preferably in a large, complex environment
  • Strong business orientation, with the ability to play an active and critical role in assisting, building and advising leadership teams.
  • Experience in leading diverse HR teams across multiple locations catering to multiple teams/groups
  • Demonstrated history of building relationships with business leaders that are based on mutual trust, insightful advice, and consistent delivery against expectations.
  • Excellent leadership skills. Knows how to engage, coach and develop a high-performing and diverse HR team.
  • Knowledge and experience in managing all aspects of HR Service Delivery through the entire employee life-cycle.
  • In depth understanding of employment law and the able to translate knowledge to practical application.
  • Functional knowledge of compensation and benefits, mergers and acquisitions, talent management, organizational development, talent acquisition and employee relations.
  • Strong delivery orientation, with ability to manage across multiple priorities to meet deadlines and budgets.
  • Able to collaborate and work across a large, diverse, and highly-matrixed organization.
  • Able to build strong collaborative relationships with business unit HR and other members of the HR community.
  • Strong negotiation skills. Ability to deal with employee issues and concerns from all levels of the organization
