Main purpose of position

Currently we are looking for a Project Cost Controller in Cairo, Egypt to be part of our global team working together towards our vision – Improving our future. As our Project Cost Controller, you will be covering activities such as business partnering with non-finance teams to add value to the construction segment, driving strategy and profitability across the different projects.

The position is a key resource in the Finance team and will report to the Head of Business Controlling. The role will have sole responsibility for all cost-controlling related activities on the projects in Egypt.

Main Responsibilities


  • Create a fully developed detailed project budget together with the Project Manager (PM) and procurement.
  • Collaborate with PM, procurement, and engineering to develop and maintain the project cost forecast on an ongoing basis.
  • Work closely with the PM to generate all required project status reports for the project team and internal management.
  • Maintains project cash flows monitoring both the forecasted cash flows and actual cash flows of the project.
  • Create a cost controlling template for internal reporting
  • Perform delta analysis of actual projects costs vs budget on an ongoing basis bringing to the Project Managers attention any deviations and or variations to the budget.
  • Manage the risks and opportunities portfolio for the project together with the Project Manager (PM) and maintain the risk register.
  • Evaluate the financial impact on the project margin of changes and variations in Scope of Work.
  • Responsible for Project Monthly close-out performing financial analysis and reporting on all key figures of the projects in scope (revenue, cost of sale and gross margin).
  • Check the accuracy of project actual internal costs – salaries, travel expenses and booking of time in line with the budget.
  • Follow the contractual milestone payment plan and check documents/activities required for payment.
  • Work with the business controlling team to improve the project cost controlling process, leading certain sub-processes in line with experience.
  • Close communication and collaboration with our local accounting services provider.
  • Work on developing reporting pack for our partners and other stakeholders.



Qualifications And Competencies


  • Education: University degree in finance, Business or equivalent.
  • Fluent in English, spoken and written
  • You are used to changing environments and to quickly meet new challenges
  • 3-6 years of relevant work experience, preferably from an international environment
  • Master Microsoft office and Business intelligence tools
  • Fluent in English and Arabic, written and verbally
