Primary Duties

As part of the FC&R Accounts Receivable & Credit Control (AR & CC) team, the Accounts Receivable and Control Controller is responsible for ensuring the collection of customer payments within Richemont’s credit terms. The position will work, as part of a collaborative team to close monitor financial targets and actively manage risks than may lead to delays in collections. Supporting process efficiency, accurate information and record and compliance with Richemont policies and procedures will be key for the position.

The Primary Duties Of The Position Include

  • Actively manage accounts receivables and collections for the UAE market and support collections in the region, work closely with Maisons across all channels ensuring payments are received within Richemont’s credit terms for retail, e-commerce and wholesale channels.
  • Monitor overdue debtors, identify and action significant collection risk issues in order to achieve the KPI’s and reduce DSO.
  • Ensure that the correct amounts are collected in a timely manner, verify and record transactions, resolve account discrepancies, and perform other tasks to secure customer payments.
  • Support the General Ledger team with reconciliations and queries, facilitated by having accurate, timely and detail customer account information is kept on file.
  • Work and drive a highly collaborative environment in global setting, promote coherence and end to end perspective.

Core Responsibilities

Accounts Receivable and Retail

  • Manage day to day financial transactions such as verifying, allocating, and reconciling receipts for sales orders in compliance with financial policies and procedures.
  • Perform tasks such as entry in SAP, manual invoices, credit notes and deposit slips after obtaining required approvals.
  • Maintain detailed and accurate records within the established filing system for all deposits, refunds, sales orders and consignments received from customers and their account information.
  • Develop and maintain regular contact with customers by sending Statement of Accounts, payment reminders and calls if required for delayed payments and discrepancies.
  • Validate retail and ecommerce customer deposits, check deposit aging and refund requests by liaising with the Finance Operations team as required.
  • Perform account reconciliations for Customer Accounts/Trade Debtors, Retail Deposits and Staff Deposits to invoices raised by Maisons.
  • Contribute to reports on overdue debtors, consignments, etc. to identify potential risks and work closely with Maison staff to preempt and resolve with customers.

Credit Control

  • Review orders, consignments, refund requests daily and action as per the approval matrix.
  • Prepare exceptional Authorization of Delivery (AOD) and Consignment requests for the Accounts Receivable and Credit Control Supervisor to review and send to the CFO for approval.
  • Evaluate new customer credit requests, including checking credit ratings, and propose credit limits to the Accounts Receivable and Credit Control Supervisor for review and approval.
  • Review and process Letters of Credit from customers before releasing any sales orders, after receiving approval from the Accounts Receivable and Credit Control Supervisor.

Reporting, Internal Control Systems and Projects

  • Assist in related general ledger accounts analysis.
  • Support the cash flow forecast administered by the Tax and Treasury team by providing accurate forecasted receivables in coordination with Maisons and FP&A Business Controllers.
  • Participate or lead projects on standardization of processes, system improvements and automation (new mode of payments, retail openings, wholesale openings, integrations, etc.).
  • Assist internal and external auditors, implement recommendations (if any), and take corrective action/s when required.

Key Requirements

Education

  • B.Com/ Finance Graduate, accounting certification and qualification is an advantage

Experience

  • At least 3-5 years of proven experience in Finance, with experience in Accounts Receivable departments
  • Experience in the retail industry would be an advantage

Technical Skills / Abilities

  • Strong Accounting background
  • Demonstrated knowledge International Accounting Standards / IFRS
  • Demonstrated knowledge of UAE VAT
  • Knowledge of computerized accounting system – especially SAP
  • Excellent knowledge of Microsoft software (Teams, SharePoint and other applications)
