Business Development Manager - Egypt

Lockheed Martin has a fantastic opportunity for a Business Development Manager to join the team to identify and qualify new international business opportunities across the Middle East and Africa, with a primary focus on North Africa. This role involves evaluating the viability of these opportunities, shaping customer requirements, and supporting the capture activities of Rotary and Mission Systems' Line of Business.


The ideal candidate for this role is a strategic thinker with a robust technical background (ex forces/military background who is now working in a Business Development capacity) with excellent interpersonal and communication skills, and a deep understanding of the Middle Eastern and North African defense landscapes. This role requires a proactive, self-motivated individual who can navigate complex environments and build lasting relationships to drive business growth.


Required Skills and Experience:

  • Experience: Expertise in business development and/or operational experience.
  • Language skills : Arabic speaking skills
  • Technical Expertise: Strong understanding of RMS product set: Combat Weapon Systems, Command and Control, RADAR and/or land sensors for priority missions such as Integrated Air and Missile Defense (IAMD).
  • Regional Knowledge: In-depth understanding of key regional partner government structures, acquisition processes (including Ministry of Defense and component services), and US military strategy and policy in the Middle East and North Africa.
  • Self-Motivation: Ability to operate with minimal guidance and succeed in a competitive environment.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Identify and Qualify Opportunities: Identify and assess new business opportunities within the specified regions.
  • Customer Relationship Management: Develop and maintain strong relationships with internal and external customers.
  • Strategy Development: Support the development of country and regional business development plans, ensuring alignment with regional and global strategies.
  • Collaboration: Coordinate across multiple business areas and functions within the corporation, including Global Business Development, Program Management, Operations, and Finance.
  • Financial Planning: Participate in financial planning and contribute to decision-making processes impacting both the company and customers.
  • Articulate Strategies: Clearly articulate strategies at various business and government levels.


Additionally, the manager will manage international customer relationships within the region and contribute to the development and execution of regional and global strategies.


Desired Skills

  • Interpersonal Skills: High level of interpersonal skills for effective communication and relationship-building with top-level customers and personnel.
  • Market Knowledge: Familiarity with the rotary wing market, Foreign Military Sales (FMS), Direct Commercial Sales contracting, and the FMS process with US government organizations.
  • Regional Experience: Experience working with US Embassies, military commands, regional consultants, and trading companies in the Middle East and North Africa.
  • Communication Skills: Excellent verbal and written communication skills for clear articulation of strategies.
  • Cultural Understanding: Knowledge of Middle Eastern and North African cultures.
