Job Description
Role Specific Skills
- To observe, assess and report any changes in patient's behavior for timely interventions.
- Maintain therapeutic relationships and empathetic approach to patients and relatives and refer to a registered nurse for any question they may have in the patient condition or any suggestions that they may wish to raise.
- To identify and report patients who are at risk of harming themselves or others and maintain patient's safety.
- To understand & manage patients with the specific symptoms of mental illness, de-escalating stressful situations and helping patients overcome challenges.
- To assist patients to develop social skills.
- To prepares and participate in-group and/or one-to-one therapy sessions, both individually and with other health professionals to patients and families.
- To cooperate with and maintain a good relationship within mental health specialty staff to maximize patient care.
- To ensure patient, staff and environmental safety by periodic check of environment/ patient belongings as per hospital policy.
- To respect and maintains the confidentiality and dignity of the patient in relation to all hospital activities.
- To ensure a process of continuous in-service education, in their clinical area & maintain unit specific competency in managing aggression, pre & post ECT management.
- To carry out assigned task in delivering and supporting direct patient care under direction of a registered nurse to ensure delivery of a high quality of patient's care.
- To participates in orientation, training, development in relation to mental health nursing.
Minimum Qualification
- Minimum 18 Months Diploma in Nursing/ Midwifery
- Eligible for DHA licensing
- 2 years recent clinical experience NB.
- Exception UAE National : No experience required.
