About the Role

We're looking for a remote Marketing Content Writer to create compelling, long-form content for our two B2B brands in the telematics industry. In this role, you'll produce high-quality, strategic content that resonates with our target audience and drives our business initiatives forward, focusing on cluster topics and setting up processes for exceptional articles and lead magnets.


You'll be responsible for crafting 1-2 substantial collaterals each month, such as longform pillar pages for our website. This role requires versatility, adaptability, and the ability to connect deeply with our audience. You should be able to understand complex technical topics, identify pain points, and address them effectively in your writing.


We're assigning high-level projects to content owners who can take charge independently. You'll need project management experience and the ability to work within the buyer's journey framework. Our Marketing Head provides individual guidance while allowing creative freedom, giving you ownership and the opportunity to flourish in your role.


OUR IDEAL CANDIDATE has 3-6+ years of experience in roles like B2B Content Writer, Technical Writer, or Marketing Copywriter. You have strong research skills, a deep understanding of content marketing principles, and the ability to write about complex technical topics for various audiences. You're a versatile writer who can adapt to different requirements, connect deeply with our audience, and effectively address pain points in your writing. You take the time to research and produce custom content that's unique and impactful, blending both art and science in your approach. You're focused on achieving marketing objectives, have a keen eye for detail, and can manage projects independently. Your ability to understand and apply the buyer's journey framework, coupled with your proficiency in content analytics and SEO, sets you apart. You're not afraid to put in the work to create content that stands out from the AI-generated noise, and you're always eager to learn and adapt to new content marketing trends and tools.

Your performance will be measured by the quality and memorability of your content, timeliness of deliverables, professionalism, availability, and accessibility, as well as your ability to drive engagement and contribute to overall marketing objectives.


You'll be on the Marketing team, and will collaborate closely with our Marketing and Product team members.


This position reports directly to the Marketing Head.


You'll be doing things like:

Content Writing

  • Marketing Content (75% of role): UX/UI writing for websites and apps; long-form blog posts and articles; newsletters and email marketing templates; storyboards for marketing videos; PR pieces and press releases; customer success stories and case studies; slide decks and presentations; ghost-writing thought leadership content; product guides and feature highlights; training content.
  • Other Writing (25% of role): Ad hoc sales support writing; enhancing and shortening SOPs; technical writing for guides and manuals; reports and grant submissions.


Content Research: Identifying content sources; conducting industry research; analyzing content performance trends; staying updated on B2B SaaS developments.


Analytics: Collaborating with Marketing on content performance metrics; interpreting data for actionable insights; suggesting data-driven content strategies.


Process Improvement & Skill Development: Mastering AI tools tools like ChatGPT to enhance content creation; refining writing techniques; adapting to content marketing trends.


Skills & Qualifications

  • 3-6+ years of experience in content writing, preferably in B2B SaaS or technology sectors
  • Proven ability to produce high-quality, long-form content (portfolio required)
  • Excellent research and interviewing skills
  • Strong understanding of content marketing principles and best practices
  • Familiarity with SEO concepts and their application in content creation
  • Ability to understand and write about complex technical topics for various audiences
  • Experience with the buyer's journey framework and its application in content strategy
  • Proficiency in content analytics and performance measurement
  • Excellent project management and organizational skills
  • Strong communication and collaboration abilities in a remote work environment

Bonus if you also have:

  • Deeper experience in any of the following writing disciplines: technical writing, user guide creation, grant writing, report creation, UX/UI writing, SOP writing, SEO optimization, AI-assisted writing
  • Familiarity with our tools: Zoho Office Suite, ChatGPT, Zoho Marketing Automation, Zoho Sites, Zoho Social.


Working Hours:  Fixed between 8AM-5PM EDT (Toronto time), inclusive of a 1-hour break.

Education: Bachelor's degree in English, Journalism, Marketing, or related field, or equivalent work experience

Full-time vs Part-time: Full-time (40 hours/week, plus an additional 5 hours of break time allocated throughout the week)

Level: Intermediate (3-5 years of relevant experience), Senior (6+ years)
