Role Purpose

The primary function of this role is to support the annual communications planning process by assisting the Marketing Director & brand teams through leadership of the Media planning and implementation process.

This includes, but is not limited to, the following key tasks:

  • Deliver strategic expertise, consultancy, inspiration, and output to stakeholders to elevate BDF's communication and media expertise to the next level.
  • Lead a team of digital, media, and marketing professionals (directly and indirectly) in the implementation of best practice campaigns.
  • Proactively support the brand and category business with tailored marketing strategies and media plans designed to drive key objectives (NS, market share, profit, and brand equity targets at the Masterbrand level and by category).
  • Lead teams to localize activation strategies through tailored consumer journeys across all touchpoints and funnel stages.
  • Ensure the implementation of global and regional media guidelines and local media KPIs.
  • Develop implementation plans within agreed budgets and KPI targets.
  • Ensure the best TTL media mix, tailored to category, audience, and objectives, to increase overall brand results and meet these objectives.
  • Oversee Precision Marketing (digital) planning and execution, ensuring key elements of PM are embedded in the BDF team and agencies' ways of working and campaigns.
  • Manage media agency contracts and relationships, including retainer fees, agency budgets, scope of work, and bonuses, to maximize cost control and ensure savings and optimal agency performance.

Responsibilities

Marketing Strategy:

  • Collaborate with brand teams to shape and refine category marketing strategies.
  • Provide media insights (cost, objectives, channels, formats, audience, and creative best practices) to support market share, profit, and brand equity targets.
  • Lead media allocation for long-term plans and yearly strategic milestones.

Communication Strategy

  • Spearhead the annual communication process, defining and executing category media strategies, and delivering impactful campaign/brand plans.
  • Partner with PM Leads and Brand Managers to ensure media plans align with marketing strategies and targets.
  • Develop media frameworks and guidelines to optimize strategies and campaigns for better efficiency and quality.
  • Gain deep insights into the media landscape and consumer behavior to ensure relevant and effective activations.
  • Drive efficient and effective use of media budgets, track, monitor, and optimize campaigns to maximize ROI and brand metrics.

Budget & Agency Management

  • Oversee agency performance, ensuring delivery aligns with contractual obligations and business needs.
  • Collaborate with auditors to monitor agency compliance and manage make-goods.
  • Implement tools to evaluate media activity, addressing opportunities for performance improvement.
  • Monitor competitor activities, including campaigns, channel usage, creative, share of voice, and spend data.

Digital & Precision Marketing

  • Work closely with Precision Marketing leads to orchestrate activities from ideation to execution, driving organizational transformation.
  • Collaborate with regional digital teams, category managers, directors, and external partners to enhance digital and precision marketing effectiveness.
  • Build strong relationships with media partners and digital platforms to meet communication objectives.

Influencer Marketing

  • Lead influencer marketing strategy, ensuring alignment with regional and global best practices.
  • Guide brand, marketing, and digital teams in effective influencer utilization.
  • Ensure influencer activities are creatively aligned with brand objectives.
  • Oversee tracking and reporting of influencer campaign success and KPI achievement.
  • Manage annual media budgets for influencer campaigns and optimize agency partnerships to enhance cost efficiency.
