For one of our esteemed client's based in Sharjah, UAE, we are currently seeking experienced Accountants with a background in the construction industry.

We are looking for three skilled Accountants with extensive experience in the construction industry to join our client’s team in Sharjah. The ideal candidates will possess a strong understanding of financial management, cost control, and accounting practices specific to the construction sector.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage all accounting operations including billing, A/R, A/P, GL, cost accounting, inventory accounting, and revenue recognition.
  • Prepare and publish timely monthly financial statements and management reports.
  • Coordinate and direct the preparation of the budget and financial forecasts and report variances.
  • Oversee and manage the month-end, quarter-end, and year-end close processes.
  • Ensure compliance with GAAP and IFRS, and applicable local financial regulations.
  • Prepare and process payroll for construction staff, ensuring accuracy in salary disbursements, deductions, and benefits.
  • Manage and track construction project costs, budgets, and contracts to ensure projects remain within budget.
  • Liaise with external auditors and manage audit processes.
  • Implement, maintain, and improve internal controls and accounting processes.
  • Assist in the preparation of tax filings and ensure compliance with tax regulations.
  • Prepare and present financial reports to senior management, highlighting key financial insights.
  • Collaborate with project managers to ensure accurate and timely reporting of project financials.
  • Monitor cash flow and manage accounts receivable and payable processes.
  • Conduct financial analysis to support decision-making for construction projects and company financial strategy.

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field; CPA or ACCA certification is preferred.
  • Minimum of 5 years of accounting experience, with at least 3 years in the construction industry.
  • In-depth knowledge of construction accounting practices, including job costing, project accounting, and contract management.
  • Proficient in accounting software such as QuickBooks, SAP, or equivalent, and advanced Excel skills.
  • Strong understanding of GAAP, IFRS, and local financial regulations.
  • Excellent analytical skills and attention to detail.
  • Strong organizational and time-management skills, with the ability to manage multiple tasks and deadlines.
  • Effective communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate with cross-functional teams.
