To be successful in this role, you should have a Medical Degree (MD or DO) and completion of a residency in general surgery. You should also have a fellowship in pediatric surgery and be board-certified in Pediatric Surgery. Strong knowledge of the surgical procedures and treatments for children and adolescents is required. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills are essential for effectively interacting with patients, families, and medical staff. The ability to manage stress and maintain composure in high-pressure situations is also important.
