Job Purpose/Target

Along with the Director of Operations, The Operations Manager oversees all operations and logistics for GFF. The position reports directly to the Director of Operations. The Operations manager will be responsible for GFF’s events management, development, facilities, and communications as well as a wide range of consultants and external vendors that provide services for the festival.

This is a project-based onsite temporary role.

Roles & Responsibilities

  • Manage all long-term and day-to-day operations of GFF.
  • Establish and maintain GFF’s operational budget, all financial paperwork, and other administrative tasks related to the payment of invoices, stipends, and contributions.
  • Monitor and coordinate Film Festival timelines and schedules internally and externally.
  • Create Show Flow for the entire festival week– including all staff duties, locations, room changes, and reservations as well as the delivery of furniture rental and catering.
  • Coordinate the production and distribution of all promotional materials and awards.
  • Work closely with different departments to ensure synergy between the Film Festival and other projects and events.
  • Evaluate and assess all aspects of the Film Festival to elevate all guest's experience.
  • Coordinate, delegate, and sync all applicable staff and departments needed to execute/organize day-of operations for all events/programs
  • Coordinate with Human resources, venues, and vendors to plan on-site visits/meetings as well as all operational aspects of any event (i.e. parking information, on-site office spaces, tech needed, staff accommodation, and travel.
  • Plot out a run-of-show for every event/program; Including production management, ticketing/RSVP, membership integration, technical needs and support staff, volunteer needs, crowd control, and any other special operations.

Qualifications & Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree required.
  • 4-5 years of increasingly responsible professional and operational experience within a film festival or large public events.

The Successful Candidate Will Have

  • Excellent organizational, office management, and interpersonal skills with an ability to meet deadlines.
  • Excellent oral, written, and communication skills: including the ability to write, proofread, and edit documents.
  • Budgeting skills and advanced Microsoft Office Suite skills required.
  • Demonstrated success in dealing with the public with professionalism and good judgment.
  • A willingness to take on new tasks, think creatively, contribute ideas, and be an integral part of GFF.
