Job Description

Job Purpose

The purpose of the designer (which includes Draftsman, CAD, and Revit) is to design and produce accurate and coherent design packages from concept through as-built drawings in line with client needs. Designers work in any of the following areas: BIM, ID, MEP/Coordination, and Joinery. This role works directly with the Head of Design and Head of Technical.

Operational Responsibility

  • Produce coherent and accurate design packages and drawings from concept to as-built to meet project requirements.
  • Draft concept drawing against the client brief that reflects the design for the 3D visualizer and Commercial team so that visuals and a BOQ can be produced.
  • Coordinate with the commercial teams and external key players to determine the project scope and draft schematic drawings to comply with local authority requirements.
  • Coordinate with Project managers and subcontractors to produce detailed construction drawings and models that reflect the full project scope.
  • Communicate design changes and respond to design changes in a timely manner with site team and other internal key players in order to keep the project up-to-date.
  • Reproduce accurate as-built drawings based off photos, redline drawings and CVIs to be handed over to the client on handover.
  • Drive innovation in design by exploring and recommending new technologies in order to enhance design for clients and customers.
  • Report on a weekly basis, providing updates on progress, challenges, and risks to ensure on time planning, progress, and mitigation measures

Person Specifications (Essential)

  • Bachelors Degree, Associate Degree or Diploma level in Interior Design, Architecture or another relevant field.
  • 5+ years experience commercial or other relevant interior construction
  • Strong Planning and Organization skills
  • Strong Communications skills, both written and oral
  • Demonstrated ability to use AutoCAD, Revit, etc
  • Demonstrated knowledge of interior construction and buildability
  • Demonstrated knowledge in local laws, rules and regulations, and standards.
  • Demonstrated working knowledge of commercial interior design and space planning.
  • Demonstrated ability to read and interpret design mark-ups and 3D renders.
