To manage all activities related to purchases and preparation and placement of POs to ensure materials are secured on time taking into consideration production plans.

Policies, Processes & Procedures

Recommends improvements to departmental policy and directs the implementation of procedures and controls covering all areas of procurement activity so that all relevant procedural/legislative requirements are fulfilled while delivering a quality, cost- effective service to customers.

Day- To-day Operations

Supervises the day-to-day operations of procurement section to ensure that work processes are implemented as designed and comply with established policies, processes and procedures.

Job Specific Accountabilities

  • Collaborates with the concerned personnel in all site functions for setting monthly and weekly purchasing plans for the designated functions depending on the necessities of each function and the set budgets to ensure alignment and timely deliveries.
  • Ensures that SOPs are applied during different purchasing processes to comply with the international standards
  • Optimizes supplier relationships while maximizing value to ensure uninterrupted product flow
  • Participates in developing policies and procedures as part of procurement team to support operational efficiencies and maintain state-of-the-art activities, both tactical and strategic.
  • Ensures that departmental strategies and related strategic plans are implemented to align with the vision and mission of supply chain.
  • Contributes to the preparation of the supply chain budget to ensure alignment with the approved set budget.
  • Manages the activities and work of subordinates to ensure that all work within a specific area is carried out in an efficient manner and in compliance with the set policies, processes and procedures.
  • Supervises the implementation of the purchasing function plans to ensure their compliance with Hikma’s rules and policies
  • Follows up on the delivery of the raw, packaging materials and administrative purchases to ensure timely and accurate deliveries to the designated functions
  • Organizes and supervises the activities to ensure that all work within a specific area of Procurement activity is carried out in an efficient and procedurally compliant manner (May supervise a small team of subordinates).
  • Contributes to the identification of opportunities for continuous improvement of systems, processes and practices taking into account ‘international best practice’, improvement of business processes, cost reduction and productivity improvement
  • Prepares departmental reports of Procurement timely and accurately to meet company and department requirements, policies and standards
  • Complies with all relevant safety, quality and environmental management policies, procedures and controls to ensure a healthy and safe work environment.

Qualifications

  • B.Sc. degree in Pharmacy, Supply Chain Management, Industrial Engineering or equivalent.
  • 10-14 years of experience in a related position at least Three years of experience as Procurement Manage.
  • Excellent organizational and leadership skills
  • Excellent Communication & Strategic planning skills.
