T.H.E Architects, Planners & Civil Engineers, Inc. is a premier architecture, planning, and civil engineering firm in the Middle East. We are currently seeking a talented Senior General Accountant to join our finance team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in accounting principles, financial reporting, and analysis. This role is critical in maintaining accurate financial records, ensuring compliance with regulations, and providing insightful financial information to support decision-making.
Key Responsibilities:
- Financial Reporting and Analysis:
- Prepare, review, and analyze financial statements, including balance sheets, income statements, and cash flow statements.
- Ensure timely and accurate monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reporting.
- Monitor and analyze financial performance, identifying trends and variances.
- General Ledger Management:
- Oversee and maintain the general ledger, including recording, reconciling, and adjusting entries.
- Ensure the integrity of financial data and accurate posting of transactions.
- Perform month-end and year-end close processes, including account reconciliations and financial adjustments.
- Compliance and Auditing:
- Ensure compliance with accounting standards, regulations, and company policies.
- Assist with internal and external audits by providing necessary documentation and explanations.
- Implement and monitor internal controls to safeguard financial assets.
- Budgeting and Forecasting:
- Assist in the preparation and monitoring of budgets, forecasts, and financial projections.
- Provide support in analyzing budget variances and recommending corrective actions.
- Accounts Payable and Receivable:
- Supervise and review accounts payable and receivable functions to ensure accurate and timely processing.
- Manage vendor relationships and oversee the reconciliation of accounts.
- Process Improvement:
- Identify and recommend improvements to accounting processes and procedures.
- Implement best practices to enhance efficiency and accuracy in financial operations.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field; CPA or equivalent certification preferred.
- 3:5 years of experience in accounting or a similar role, with a solid understanding of accounting principles and practices.
- Proven experience with financial reporting, general ledger management, and budgeting.
- Strong proficiency in accounting software (e.g., QuickBooks, Sage, SAP) and Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, Outlook).
- Excellent analytical skills and attention to detail.
- Strong organizational and time management skills, with the ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines.
- Effective communication skills, both written and verbal.
