T.H.E Architects, Planners & Civil Engineers, Inc. is a premier architecture, planning, and civil engineering firm in the Middle East. We are currently seeking a talented Senior General Accountant to join our finance team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in accounting principles, financial reporting, and analysis. This role is critical in maintaining accurate financial records, ensuring compliance with regulations, and providing insightful financial information to support decision-making.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Financial Reporting and Analysis:
    • Prepare, review, and analyze financial statements, including balance sheets, income statements, and cash flow statements.
    • Ensure timely and accurate monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reporting.
    • Monitor and analyze financial performance, identifying trends and variances.
  • General Ledger Management:
    • Oversee and maintain the general ledger, including recording, reconciling, and adjusting entries.
    • Ensure the integrity of financial data and accurate posting of transactions.
    • Perform month-end and year-end close processes, including account reconciliations and financial adjustments.
  • Compliance and Auditing:
    • Ensure compliance with accounting standards, regulations, and company policies.
    • Assist with internal and external audits by providing necessary documentation and explanations.
    • Implement and monitor internal controls to safeguard financial assets.
  • Budgeting and Forecasting:
    • Assist in the preparation and monitoring of budgets, forecasts, and financial projections.
    • Provide support in analyzing budget variances and recommending corrective actions.
  • Accounts Payable and Receivable:
    • Supervise and review accounts payable and receivable functions to ensure accurate and timely processing.
    • Manage vendor relationships and oversee the reconciliation of accounts.
  • Process Improvement:
    • Identify and recommend improvements to accounting processes and procedures.
    • Implement best practices to enhance efficiency and accuracy in financial operations.


Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field; CPA or equivalent certification preferred.
  • 3:5 years of experience in accounting or a similar role, with a solid understanding of accounting principles and practices.
  • Proven experience with financial reporting, general ledger management, and budgeting.
  • Strong proficiency in accounting software (e.g., QuickBooks, Sage, SAP) and Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, Outlook).
  • Excellent analytical skills and attention to detail.
  • Strong organizational and time management skills, with the ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines.
  • Effective communication skills, both written and verbal.
