About the Role:

Reporting to the Marketing Head, Business Builder CES, you are responsible to develop and manage the business partnerships as part of Borouge’s 2030 Circularity Strategy to nurture new business opportunities, creating global network of recycling and industry partners, developing leading packaging solutions and concepts, while contributing to Borouge Brand.

This role includes: Partnership development strategy; Develop & nurture value chain partners, identifying new business development opportunities, develop and maintain operational excellence; monitoring the partners’ performance,

As a techno-commercial role need to manage the complexity of engaging the large pool of external partners and internal stakeholders while developing a profitable new business through partnership management following fundamental structure of existing Borouge business.

This position is based in Singapore.

Key Accountabilities:

CES Recyclate Supply Strategy

  • Implement CES roadmap (in alignment with 2030 Strategy) for global partnerships with Recycling companies and Circularity partners comprising value chain players like Industry associations, regulators, convertors, brands, equipment suppliers and technology providers.
  • Lead CES Strategy execution with a focus on building partnership to build a supply base across all Borouge markets, which should create a new portfolio for Borouge business, with the focus on developing capabilities towards Quality Management (external partners), recyclate blending and solution development.
  • Implement strategy with clearly defined milestones and targets and drive collaboration across with Borouge Teams to deliver identified strategies, and coordinate strategic projects (internal, with external partners) ensuring effective implementation of Circular Economy strategy
  • Support overall alignment of CES Strategy with the Borouge strategy and ensure constant interaction with key Borouge stakeholders (Performance Cells, Business Optimization, Strategy & Excellence) to adapt strategy to changing market requirements, and foster collaboration between Strategic Marketing, PCOE and Innovation to ensure strategic innovation priorities for packaging are addressed.

New Business Development

  • Create commercial & technical partnerships with packaging value chain players to increase co-operation and co-development of solutions to enhance circularity
  • Develop agreements of the Joint Development Partnership and get sign off with potential partners based on business requirements, internal alignment and management approval.
  • Develop the recyclate partnership business case for senior management approvals and drive closure of the legal and commercial aspects to enable final agreement sign offs.
  • Manage enhanced due diligence for partner qualification through close cooperation with Innovation Centre, PCOE and functions like legal, tax, compliance & HSE. The role also need to manage all certification audit required to do this new business as regulatory framework is evolving across industry.
  • Resolve priorities conflicts or resource constraints within the appropriate innovation governance forum, and ensure IPR coordination with Borouge Innovation for joint development projects.

Partnership Performance

  • Manage the onboarding and day to day relationship management of the recyclate partner as per partnership type including supporting in the procurement of recyclates
  • Manage recyclate partners for day to day partner co-ordination for recyclate procurement (planning, quality, lead times, shipping, blending and other processes)
  • Manage the P&L of the individual partner. Continually support recyclate partners in improving quality and profitability, lower costs and time to market; identify and implement innovative ideas to enhance operational effectiveness and value
  • Host regular portfolio review with partners on business and operational KPI performance and identify value improvement opportunities
  • Take regular efforts to evaluate recyclate partners to evaluate addition and or removal of recyclate partners from the Borouge portfolio
  • Conduct Quarterly business reviews with partners to review performance (volume, procurement price, quality, fill rates, delays and contractual compliance etc.)
  • work with customer service on all aspects related to product delivery, quality and shipments (including duties, approvals, permits etc.)
  • Manage the P&L of each individual recycling distribution partner to help management decision. Create and manage processes (online / offline) to enable & manage the complexity of commercial sales of recyclates, with strong focus on operational effectiveness, costs and working capital management, through close coordination with Performance Cell and Customer Service.

About You:

  • University Degree in Chemical Engineering, Science or Equivalent Qualifications.
  • Post-graduate Degree in Business Administration or MBA, is preferred.
  • Fluency in English Language is must; Written & Oral.
  • Minimum of 8 - 12 years of total relevant experience.
  • Previous Exposure / Hands on: Project Management, Stakeholder Management, Packaging Value Chain exposure
  • At least two completed projects involving internal &/or external stakeholders, where the person may be at leading position or member of project team
  • Sound Knowledge: Partnership Framework, Commercial Acumen & Packaging Value Chain
  • Preferred to be certified in Project Management; i.e. PMP
