The Project Execution Manager (PEM) at Hilti is responsible for supporting efforts of a team through planning, managing and coordinating the execution of construction engineered solutions from proposal, through engineering and design, into manufacturing and fulfillment/delivery to customer. The Project Manager is charged with ensuring all projects are completed within schedule, budget, legal liabilities from Engineering to Order Fulfillment.

What does the role involve?

The key responsibility of the Project Execution Manager is to:

  • Support other project managers on a project or application of a program for customer, field sales team, and internal corporate departments on programs/projects that are engineered to order
  • Participate in project team meetings and independently take on tasks related to the project execution from Engineering to Order Fulfillment
  • Visit jobsite with salespeople, field engineers, fire protection specialists, or strategic business personnel to assess application problems and opportunities
  • Support capture teams for large projects by assessing and consolidating options for engineering scope and cost, prefab and logistics cost calculations following elaborated logistics concept (transport, customs, intermediate storage etc.) to support bidding and proposal phase
  • understands how to work with engineering teams to facilitate development of all project submittals (shop drawings, calculations, product date, models, sign and seal, etc.) and understands the connection between Engineering solutions and Fulfillment implications
  • Keep up with Change Management documentation, tracking and identifying Project Changes, informing/consulting other relevant stakeholders on impact of customer changes on planning and costs, and ensuring project changes are communicated to all internal stakeholders. Have in place Documentation and Change Log for proper timely communication with Customer.
  • Gather specific customer logistics requirements for materials, specials and prefabricated materials (e.g. labelling, packaging, deliveries, unloading, timing, etc.)
  • Create supply and logistics concepts in collaboration with the Project Fulfillment Manager considering input from different stakeholders, e.g. HQ, Market Organisation (MOs), Prefabrication, Transport, Materials Management, Warehouse, etc.
  • Coordinate execution of agreed logistics & supply concept, manage inbound and outbound logistics and coordinate items manufacturing and supply
  • Track and monitor Project performance (Project Health Checks), capturing scope compliance, change management, project team performance, service quality and Financials. Defining actions and learnings for internal Hilti development, but also documenting and listing actions towards the Customer.
  • Act as contact to customers for operational details (e.g. delivery planning, jobsite logistics, etc.) and internal interface to internal stakeholders and business partners
  • Assess/mitigate risk throughout project duration, especially when scope changes arise; execute change order management

What you need is:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering – Civil, Structural, or Mechanical (A Master’s or an MBA is an advantage)
  • Minimum four (4) years’ experience in engineering, construction project management, or related technical field with a proven track record and in-depth understanding of Engineering Services, Building Information Modeling (BIM) management, Bid Management, and Contract Logistics
  • 3-5 years in construction consultancy, in roles such as project managers/ consultants/ business developers
  • Demonstrated time management and organizational skills; must be able to organize all projects, track successes, and apply learnings and best practices to subsequent projects.
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills (English)
  • Strong interpersonal skills with proven ability to communicate complex situations in an easy-to-understand manner and building and strengthening relationships with customer and internal stakeholders across different levels in the organisation
  • Experience using Microsoft Suite (Word, Excel, PPT, Outlook), SAP, and project management software
  • Understanding of Common Data Environment (CDE) functionalities and workflows
  • Project Management Professional (PMP), Project Management Institution (PMI), Prince II or equivalent certification, preferred
  • Lean Management Experience is preferred
  • Able to travel domestically occasionally, and to country where projects are
  • A driving license is essential based on the nature of the position.
